I’m jealous, I wish we got 8 crazy nights.

So I truly hope that I’m not offending here, but I kinda have to deal with this every year. Other than getting to go to Disneyland on 12/25 and ordering Chinese, Hubs does not have any happy vibes re: Christmas, and to him, Hanukkah is just a sell-out joke.

He’s sort of calming down though, with a lot of effort. Here’s a really (really, really, really) short version of what Christmas is like for him (note for those who just don’t get this; see the link below.) His lived experience: every April or so when he was in elementary school, his Christian friends (well, friends for the rest of the year) called him a “Christ-killer.” Just some perspective for those who just don’t get it. We love him and try to minimize the weirdness.

But by golly, I’m making latkes, which are the finest manifestation of potatoes on God’s green earth! Hell, I have 8 days’ worth of cooking oil; why not?
