I agree. However, it is ironic that many "star" players sit out bowl games. We are already on scholarship reductions and I don't think a bowl ban really deters recruits from signing. With the way our offense has developed, I think we will pull in the recruits. We also have more TV exposure than most teams as well. Maybe an early Christmas gift will be a NCAA announcement before January. Are either of those two under NCAA investigation?
The NCAA punishment hasn't been handed down and until that happens, recruits may be waiting to see what the punishment is gonna be. We committed some pretty serious violations.I agree. When it comes to the NCAA I would argue that their actual power is much less than their PERCEIVED power and that is the battle Tennessee is fighting. The perception is that the NCAA has some power and that is what opposing coaches are using as ammo.Does the NCAA have any power any more? They are on their last gasp and if they try too much against one of its schools the SEC will tell them to shove it
Is Oklahoma in the SEC a better job than UT? Cause I don’t think it is. And why would Heupel want to go coach at a place that threw him out. Yeah he played there but they used him as a scape goat and I’m sure that didn’t leave a good taste in his mouth
North Carolina made a living with that 4 corner offense---hold it for 5 minutes and catch the defense napping and cherry pick a lay up. So glad that changed with the shot clock.Do you remember the no shot clock era? Get ahead by 10-15 points and then the 4 corners offense comes out. That was awful. Shot clock was definitely welcome. Did not need to be shortened though. That’s what really killed the game in my opinion. No time to set up plays.
They're still in power and can punish us as they see fit. The biggest problem for us though is the negative recruiting from rival coaches. As long as we're under investigation, that's gonna be a big issue.Does the NCAA have any power any more?
