It's called the most Valuable player, what value did those guys provide if they didn't lead their teams to the post season? If it's just best player then they need to re name the award to that
PUT BARRY BONDS IN THE HALL OF FAME OR BURN IT DOWNBecause baseball is the ultimate team sport in terms of value. Barry Bonds literally had the greatest four year run in the history of the sport and only made the playoffs twice. It wasn’t his fault he didn’t have a great compliment of teammates. If Austin Riley played for the Kansas City Royals he wouldn’t have lead them to playoffs for example. Just because he played for a better organization doesn’t mean he deserves the MVP more, just like because Juan Soto plays for a ****** team shouldn’t preclude him for the MVP. It wasn’t his fault. It isn’t basketball or hockey or even QB in the NFL. There’s only so much 1 player out of 9 can do when he is involved…in maybe 10 plays a game in baseball?
Ronald was going to with the MVP and we won a WS without him. Goes to your point about baseball being a team sport.Because baseball is the ultimate team sport in terms of value. Or look at the Angels. They have a guy who might end up going down as the GOAT (and not the overused version of that word, I mean the actual GOAT) and another guy who had one of the most unique and greatest seasons of all time this year. Is Ohtani not AL MVP this year, or are Trout's MVPs undeserved, because his team was average?Because baseball is the ultimate team sport in terms of value.
