The Atlanta Braves

It's called the most Valuable player, what value did those guys provide if they didn't lead their teams to the post season? If it's just best player then they need to re name the award to that

Because baseball is the ultimate team sport in terms of value. Barry Bonds literally had the greatest four year run in the history of the sport and only made the playoffs twice. It wasn’t his fault he didn’t have a great compliment of teammates. If Austin Riley played for the Kansas City Royals he wouldn’t have lead them to playoffs for example. Just because he played for a better organization doesn’t mean he deserves the MVP more, just like because Juan Soto plays for a ****** team shouldn’t preclude him for the MVP. It wasn’t his fault. It isn’t basketball or hockey or even QB in the NFL. There’s only so much 1 player out of 9 can do when he is involved…in maybe 10 plays a game in baseball?

Juan Soto could have had a 300 OPS+ and hit .500 and the Nationals weren’t making the playoffs lol

PUT BARRY BONDS IN THE HALL OF FAME OR BURN IT DOWN

Ronald was going to with the MVP and we won a WS without him. Goes to your point about baseball being a team sport.

Fantastic point. Look how bad the Packers look without Aaron Rodgers. If he tore his ACL they are done. James Harden left Houston and they were the worst team in basketball. We lost one of the three best players in baseball and won the whole freaking thing.

Or look at the Angels. They have a guy who might end up going down as the GOAT (and not the overused version of that word, I mean the actual GOAT) and another guy who had one of the most unique and greatest seasons of all time this year. Is Ohtani not AL MVP this year, or are Trout's MVPs undeserved, because his team was average?

Baseball I think pretty clearly is the ultimate team sport where team success really shouldn't be held against you in any way. There is a reason Ted Williams's career is not looked at like Dan Marino's.

I really like watching Chandler play. But boy I hope we are in a groove before next weekends games.

Just a reminder the Atlanta Braves really won the whole dang World Series
Snit on a local show this afternoon:
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to stop smiling about how young this team still is yet how battle tested they already are?”

We have Max, Ian, Ozzie, Ronnie and Riley for the next 3 years. That’s a hell of a core to have.

Watching Arkansas/Mercer with the sound down and trying to figure out who the familiar looking new guy is for Mercer wearing a face mask. It’s Jalen Johnson using the Covid year and playing in year 6 as a grad transfer after grad transferring to Wake Forest last year lol.

I gotta say, whoever at ESPN decided to put the Full NHL package on ESPN+ is a genius. I’ve watched more regular season hockey this month than I ever have
