And as long as the OL is pretty much keeping the defender in front of him it isn’t as obvious and won’t get called.FWIW, on the line, when you play football, the first thing they teach you how to hold. You can post "why don't they call that blatant hold" online 1000 times, and I think we've achieved that, but honestly, that's how you play the game. Pass protection would simply be impossible if you didn't hold, and they do, and they will. A lot. Every play.
I can see it now.
The score is 24-20 with Georgia in the lead. Tennessee has no timeouts.
1st and Goal from the 5 with 5 seconds left in the game after a 40-yard completion to Velus Jones. Offense snaps it with big Jordan Davis from Georgia struggling to get to the defender’s side of the line of scrimmage. He doesn’t. This would be a defensive offsides penalty and, in theory, give Tennessee a free play to win the game. Refs make a saving call for either for a fictional offensive penalty thereby enforcing a ten second runoff, or they keep the offense from snapping the ball.
Have fun with the fans after that.
You are right, driving out of the Wawona Tunnel and seeing the Valley is breathtaking...and this pic definitely doesn't do it justice. I can't wait to go back when Bridalveil is flowing. Yosemite was dry too, and Vernal and Nevada barely had any flow.
I think Coach Burns deserves a ton of credit with his development of Tillman. I was giving him grief at the beginning of the season for the amount of drops by the WR’s but he has done an excellent job developing our guys.
Yes, refs are out of control. . .
Just for context.. The ref didn't throw the flag because the player "hit" him. He threw it for some BS taunting on that player about 30 seconds previous.
Not that it is any better. The whole exchange was terrible. But if you just watch this video it looks like the ref was trying to get the player to hit him so he could throw a flag, which wasn't what happened.
Verizon still drops calls.Speaking of COVID, I got my Pfizer booster yesterday. It’s amazing - the Bill Gates microchip is barely noticeable at all. And, my 5G cell reception is fantastic all of a sudden!
In all seriousness, I got my booster AND flu shot in the same arm - a little sore today in the arm, but no other side effects.![]()
The ref was grabbing his flag before the Marsh even turned around to return to the Bears sideline. That's the "official" story, but it makes no sense. Why wait until he bumps into you to throw a flag for something that happened 10 seconds ago? It is such obvious hand waving to try and explain it away in such a convenient fashion.
im a Steelers fan but that call sucked…..it’s officially a penalty but good grief they allow the whole Steelers defense to pose in the end zone. The ref was grabbing his flag before the Marsh even turned around to return to the Bears sideline.
The reason he waited to throw it is because he's a pussy and didn't want the player to scream in his face when he saw what was going on. Which worked. Marsh didn't see the flag until he was back to his sideline.
I don't even blame the ref so much (for that call specifically at least). Because is that taunting? I mean.. yeah.. kinda.im a Steelers fan but that call sucked…..it’s officially a penalty but good grief they allow the whole Steelers defense to pose in the end zone.
