I thought this was a hard game to watch as a TN fan.

80% or more if the game was watching KY's O plod down the field on 12 play 8 minuet drives because Vols were scoring in 5 plays in 2 minuets or less. And I was spending most of the night yelling at the D to tackle someone or get a TO ha ha. Not complaining at all just that I got tired of watching KY's offense all night. What a weird game it was.

Actually started watching some of LSU/AL when KY was on offense when it looked like LSU had a chance to beat them. I could watch 5 minuets of that game and go back to ours and KY was still driving and down at the 20.

I never got a sense of dread during this game. Even as UK was driving in thr final minutes I just felt....calm. maybe it was because it is Kentucky, maybe its just the fact that 6-6 was my expectation for what i would deem acceptable to me to show we are on the right path. We were playing with house money yesterday imo and came up aces.

I somewhat agree. But I have to say that our D gave a superhuman effort even though they couldn't get off the field. When KY had a 4th and 24, I said out loud that this is just what FL had a few years back. Well, as you know, both teams made the 1st down. But this D held on even after 46 minutes on the field!

I've not been this proud to be a Tennessee VOL in a while!

I felt that way too but I know it was because 6-6 is nearly all but assured. Having beaten UK is just a cherry on top, as most never expected us to go bowling anyway. Had we not peed down our leg vs Pitt, we’d likely finish 8-4 and Heupel would be hands down COY. But, here we are. Now to just keep Hooker and the OL healthy next week and escape without major injuries for the stretch, bc it seems like we’re made of glass and we’ll need everyone for the remaining two after GA.

A lot of people were bailing on the Vols after every KY score. People acting like it's was 40-7
I just don't get that mind set.
Fans are still adapting to life with Heupel as coach. The defense is always going to be an issue and a lot of it is obviously due to how the offense plays. We were told it was going to be a long, hard season for our defense and it shouldn't shock anyone when we see what we did Saturday. We hope for 2-3 stops per game and an offense that will treat the scoreboard like a hacked pinball machine.

I’m probably one of the people you’re referring to. As for me, I wasn’t bailing on the Vols. It was simply a way to vent frustration at our inability to stop Kentucky’s offense since they aren’t exactly offensive juggernauts. Fortunately, it appears that we may be and it was enough to compensate for a poor defensive performance.

Get to full strength on the DL and get some elite linebackers and things could get ugly for other teams…

I thought it was funny Kentucky would go on a 20 play 8 minute drive converting crucial 3rd down conversions to score a TD only for us to get the ball back abd score a 72 yard TD in 11 seconds! Hahaha!

I'm surprised Kentucky plodded as far as they did. You cannot win games by converting 3rd and 9 90% of the time. They were just that outlier last night. Temporary superhuman luck stream that ran out.

Our D stuffed them very effectively on first down and put them in third and uncomfortable over and over all night. Eventually they failed, but it sure took a long time.
