How I feel after that win

It was high-tension, for sure. The game grabbed us by the throats from the very first play and didn't let go until the clock hit 0:00.

Two or maybe three years from now, this is how games against Bama and Georgia are going to feel. Tight, back and forth, undecided right up until the last set of downs. Meanwhile, the comfortable wins we had against USCe and Mizzou early this season will be how we handle the Ole Misses and Pitts (and Floridas?) of the future. Nine or ten regular season wins will be the base expectation, then how much more can we get after that? That will be the question, in just a coupla-few short years with Heupel & Co, as long as they get after the recruiting.

It's going to be a blast. Fun the likes of which we have not seen since the Fulmer glory days. Really looking forward to it, even as worn out as we all are this morning, hehe.

Go Vols!

she is really bad....and the cohort she was with was just as bad....I'm not so sure they didn't wave him in off the street.....ESPN announcer quality has really plummeted....long for the team of Franklin and Gottfried
She was like nails on a chalkboard. I muted the sound for a long time and just watched the game. How in the **** is she an announcer??? If she was drop-dead gorgeous I'd understand but....

It feels good to come away from a close game against a ranked team with the Win. Reminds me of some of the old Johnny Majors coached games when the other team seemed to have its way most of the game but we won anyway.

I was talking with a UK friend after the game. I said I don’t know how we won b/c it felt like UK just did whatever they wanted on offense. His response was “what do you mean? Every time UT had the ball I kept thinking here comes another 70 yd TD.” Both sides were watching the game with the same level of dread of the other’s offense.

Not as drained as our defense. On the field pretty much the entire game granted much of that was their own fault but still impressive that they just didn't quite.

Most on here just ain’t used to a high flying offense. Let alone an offensive genius that can put our guys wide of the hash marks in space sideline to sideline, then a good block with a little wiggle, and off to the races. It happens so fast it is almost like it actually didn’t happen.
All we have seen forever is slow huddle up try to be methodical boring football. Like Kentucky or Georgia plays.

I got scolded by the wife because we had company over and I watched the game the whole time. Apparently I didn’t talk enough and was rude.

Don’t care. Got the dub.
You had people over that didn't watch the game with you? Why would you do that?

I have been a VFL for, well, all my life, but did not go to my first game until I was a freshman in 1966. I must admit, I had some doubt during their last possession we would not prevail. When they made the 4th-and-forever first down, my heart sank. Bet we held. And we won. As I always tell my kids and Grands, "Everything is right with the world. Tennessee won."

Feel great after the win. I knew we were going to leave Lexington with the dubya!

Fify. :^)))))

What is really encouraging is ... the defense did not have any give up. And after the 4th and 24, we switched strategy and decided - win or lose we were bringing the house. Which proved to be the winning call.
Oh ... and it was priceless to watch a QB, complain about a facemask call (was that a tear?) ... on the sideline ... after their failed 4th down call.
Whew ... that was awesome and awful. 7-5 is on the horizon, just like I said. [ I tell you what.... ]
Now, I am focused on seeing if CJH has got an tricks up his sleeve for this coming Saturday. Yes, I think we are going to lose. But I have high hopes for a dog fight in Ktown. I would actually 'settle' for another game just like this one with the same finish. How about you??????

My alumni brothers were moaning the whole game, "...we gonna lose this ... you can't leave you defense on the field for 45 minutes..." Well guess what ... YOU CAN ACTUALLY!!!!
Now, I am not recommending that as a regular game plan. But we can actually win on a day when the defense did not have a good day.

Oh and by the way ... the missed face mask was not the only missed call. Saw a few holding calls I wanted called, but I did not get a 15 yard penalty.

Who was at the game ... of importance ... Two from the Citrus Bowl. Next to two from the Peach Bowl. Next to two from the Sugar Bowl. (BOZICH | Kentucky's defense rests -- and Tennessee wins, 45-42)
Maybe they came to see Kentucky, but they left the stadium talking about that Tennessee offense.

You know what COULD happen ... we could win out. Bear with me ... yes, it is gonna take a magic wand to make it happen... but go with it ... just for a second.
We win out and we are 8-4 and 2nd in the EAST!!!! Wouldn't that be something!

Okay, Kentucky's bowl hopes took a beating ... three losses in a row ... and the 45 points we scored ... IS THE MOST KENTUCKY has given up all season. AND WE DID IT TO THEM! Chew on that for a minute!!! and we did it ALL in under 14 minutes!!!
Now, what bowl is gonna ... like the fact that we are intent on entertainment!

I'm gonna quote the KY head coach about the game, ""It really was a great game," Stoops said." I agree 100%.
