I may be speaking out of turn, but I suspect maybe I'm not. The team, or at least, Cade Mays knows. Go to the last paragraph.

Offensive lineman Cade Mays added onto the Hendon Hooker hype.

“He’s definitely a tough guy, runs the ball hard, he runs like a running back honestly,” said Mays, “When he gets the ball in his hand he’s not scared to go fight for that first down. He’s not the kind of guy that’s going to step out of bounds. He wants to lay that lick, so definitely a tough guy.”

Hooker is easily the best to man the QB position since Josh Dobbs.

Considering how the biggest contributing factor to so many bad seasons we have endured is poor QB play, we should all feel pretty lucky to have him.

I agree. We all saw it. When Milton was about to get hit, he would slow and bend over like it was going to hurt and his accuracy is horrible. I wish he would go ahead and enter the portal at the end of the season.

Loved Dobbs. Game changer. Imagine Dobbs having HH accuracy passing. Or HH having Dobbs speed and escapability.

If Hooker does not return there will be a boat load of QBs in the transfer portal next year. Milton just isn't the choice as a successor to Hooker.

Only a fool still has faith in Milton. He’s been given every opportunity and hasn’t made enough progress to take the next step. We need another QB badly And I’m certain CJH will address it in the off season

Milton really is the "built like Tarzan" but "runs like Jane" kind. Its odd that such a hefty physical specimen is so scared of contact on the field. That kind of wussiness is not likely to play well in the locker room with his teammates.

Gotta love Hooker's willingness to tape his ears back and drive for it at the end of the run. He has some fierceness in him and I like it. We were definitely lucky to get him or our season would likely be complete crap right now.

I am not doubting this at all, but is this even a compliment to him? Have we had a quarterback since Dobbs that was even average? Heck I would venture to say that Milton is the second best quarterback since Dobbs. I still believe that Milton can be the guy when Hooker's eligibility is up. He has all the tools, everyone just needs to be patient.

He even runs like dobbs at times. Are they the same no but there are flashes of it especially on designed runs.

His ability to get skinny and split defenders is damn near inhuman. Plus his accuracy is off the charts

You are saying Hooker is Plastic Man. Pretty good description.

No, just No. JG was JG and he had all the tools, great in practice. Milton is JG lite or JG strong but still another JG.

Know what you mean, only a fool would call another poster a fool for not agreeing with his opinion that any player has maxed out his growth and maturity. For a fact he has not yet proven he can be a major contributor as a QB, but that is the end of the fact set. Our coach obviously thought a lot of his ability to get him here and to start him. Only a fool would take the stance he does not have QB evaluation skills. Until he turns his back on Milton I will not.

He may very well be called on before this season is over and get another shot. Lights do go on and the game slows down later for some than others. Same with posters and class issues in dealing with guys who have signed on to be VOLS. Until he shows a lack of class in dealing with losing his job I will not lower mine. He has not earned the starting job nor a lot of the treatment he has received for honestly failing to hold it.

Well, there is a problem with your assumption that Cade is alluding to the fact that Milton stepped out, but Hooker won't, he'll fight. . .

This article was published on October 5th. We didn't play Ole Miss until October 16th. . . he could still be talking about Milton being soft, but not in the scope that you're suggesting.

I wish we wouldn’t get into a bash Milton thread. Hooker is a better QB and Milton has better upside. Who knows how he will look another year in the system. Maybe he needs a sports psychologist type to work with…I don’t know. I am certainly not going to bash a guy that took a chance on us and didn’t succeed. I have failed multiple times in my life.

Shocker. We have 2 scholly QBs at this point. He'd better, or take a job at a local grocery store.

Milton was a toss of the lawn dart and an error that has been corrected at this point.

Agree with the staff needing to hit the transfer portal hard for other options though.
