Here’s where I’m tiptoeing a bit, in terms of PF stuff. But: BOTH sides have gotten so damn shrill and eyes-bugging-out that it’s almost unheard of for people on both sides of the issue to say, “OK, I don’t agree with [fill in blank], but I can see why you think it’s valid and important.”The issue as far as I see it is we have become a nation where half the population are scared of guns because all they know is that they kill people. How does one change that?
And that has happened in damn near every part of American life now, from 2A and abortion and capital punishment and vaccinations to college football overtime rules and cookie-dough-vs-toffee-caramel ice cream. Until we get to a place where we can learn to understand (not automatically agree with, but understand) different points of view, nothing will change.
