Somehow I have not read these either. Just had a friend clean out his bookshelves and gave me the whole series. Going to start after I finish reading redwall with my 8 year old.

Very detailed world with lots of compelling characters. Robert Jordan gets a little too descriptive at times which slows down the story at points but the series is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, I'm thinking that the TV series is going to be a disappointment.

GoT had perfect casting and characters looked like what I imagined while reading. Wheel of Time casting seems like they went too PC by changing the race of major characters to be "inclusive". Pisses me off.
They also seem to be making the main character of the show Moiraine....she is a fantastic character but the 3 boys are the overall main characters, especially in the first half of the series.
