Windy's football discussion thread.

The missus decorated the front porch. We’ll carve pumpkins (only 3 this year) tonight or tomorrow. We’ll hand out candy (the good stuff) to any trick-or-treaters who come by.

In the years before Covid-19, we went all out. Folks would pull up in cars to let their kids come to our door. The headless bride (my wife’s creation) and plentiful carved pumpkins were standouts of our decorations. One year, I carved seven pumpkins out of eleven in our yard. We went through a bunch of tea candles that year.

I carve pumpkins freehand. Each pumpkin tells me what it’s going to be - cyclops, fish, spider, old fashioned Jack-O-Lantern…

It’s been sad since the early part of this crap, at least the kids and adults relaxed a little, even though the parents were still cautious. It’ll probably be in stages that life gets back to normal and the Halloween that you remember on your street will still be a add on memory. As far as the adults partying away, I hope it’s was because of this Covid stress and not the because “I’m over 18 and I can do what ever the hell I want to do, regardless” crowd.
Does this mean that you are going to be nice to us idiots again soon?

Signed, waiting in the shadows.
