I might be wrong, but I don’t think Gore played a defensive inning in the NLDS. For this team, he’s useless.

Pache is fast enough to to do anything Gore can except steal a base and is a legitimate sub both defensively and offensively. Drop Gore. Camargo is a switch hitter, can play either corner of outfield and both infield corners if needed. I can see Adrianza if Dans or Oz are injured. The best thing besides defense that Shea gives this series is it frees up using Willie as a ph, but carrying three catchers seems like a wasted spot if you don’t use them.

If he’s not being carried for his bat or his glove, then he’s being carried for his one tool that we won’t use properly. It’s a wasted spot.

The only thing Gore does better than Pache is steal a base. Pache is plenty fast to score from second , or from 1st on a double, and gives a legitimate bat to use if needed. Defense is a given.

I went to 2019 NLDS Game 1 by myself. No regrets. That was when Coldplay was a good MLB pitcher, got hurt warming up, Luke got brought in and promptly surrendered the lead, and then Folty melted down in Game 5. Losing Martin cost us that series, and perhaps the World Series.
