‘23 TN OLB Caleb Herring (Tennessee Commit)

— It's hard to overstate just how impressive Caleb Herring was during Friday's camp. The four-star Class of 2023 edge rusher from Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., was the talk of the camp, and for good reason. The 6-foot-5 Herring was one of the most physically impressive players on hand, and he was timed at 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a time that was nearly as fast as some of the top skill players in attendance. He easily looked the part as the state's No. 1 overall prospect from Tennessee in the 2023 class, and he's already a priority target for Tennessee's staff for a reason.

We will start with the best of the best and that was Caleb Herring. So how did he look? 😳😳😳😳😳😳 Like a million dollars! He was long and super athletic. He was fluid out in space. The ⭐⭐⭐⭐️ has been generating plenty of buzz as a prospect and the rising junior did not disappoint on Friday night. He clocked a 4.7 40-yard dash and showed good burst and athleticism in drills. He has an incredibly long frame and it’s easy to see that he’s got a ton of room to grow and a frame that will easily handle all the weight he’s about to add.
He camped at UGA yesterday and will head to Bama tomorrow. After that he is done for camps.

Would be amazing if he committed early to UT and was the face of the 2023 class.

That isn’t the Tennessee way.

We will sweat this until signing day. This thread will eclipse 100 pages. AP will allude to Tennessee being in a good spot in March, then by May suggest that things are trending away, then in July say momentum is going our way. By September Kentucky will lead. This will have more twists than a M. Night Shamalan movie.

Hopefully this won't be the case this time with his brother already being on the team (as long as we don't lose his commitment before signing day).

Hopefully having big brother will make this one different.

But, alas, BVS is real.

We will start in the 2023 class in-state with Caleb Herring. The Riverdale product is moving closer to a decision in our estimation. It’s certainly not imminent but we do think this fall could be a target timeframe for him. Tennessee continues to be the favorite there as others continue to get a feel for how realistic it is he plays away from his brother.

The 2023 four-star linebacker from Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Riverdale visited Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt this summer and the word is that the Volunteers impressed him the most. Tennessee gave off a “family atmosphere” and there was a level of comfort there that stood out to Herring, who said Clemson was similar but that he didn’t get to tour the school there.

Because he's #1 in the state rankings, he needs to be "Priority #1"

Not saying Tennessee has the greatest HS players, but he can legit play and could get some in-state kids to at least look at UT.
