No, but hes being forced to give up his job. So in a way, yes.

Private sector can fire anyone they choose if they have cause. He has the right to sue for wrongful termination if he chooses. Actually he resigned so no, he can't.

Youngest son just sent a text that he’s gonna take a chance and go to game. Hoping he can find a decent single ticket. Reminded him last time he had spur of the moment urge to go to game was OU. Hell of a game but not the outcome we wanted !

I don't understand why some hate "Checker Neyland" ....I think it looks awesome. It's something fun for the fans to do and it leaves a big impression on the recruits that visit those games.

No one, in the world, can get 100,000 people to agree on something. That's just the way it is and that's why this is not a big deal. Once they said Neyland would be checkerboard orange and white, the deal is done. My suggestion for those who don't like it is to just stay away and watch the game on TV.

First of all, the emails go AS FAR BACK AS 2011, they aren't just messages taken out of context from 10 years ago. They are a trail of messages and behavior that stretch multiple years.

I'm just guessing you haven't read the article or have an understanding of what exactly it is that he resigned for.

The fans are hungry for success and right now we see light at the end of the tunnel. Come Sat night ,these fans are going to be crazy and its Lane and they are going to make Ole Miss time in Knoxville pure hell. They will cause multiple penalties and turnovers. These fans will do their part and Ole Miss is going home with a loss. I am sure we got a couple more losses coming but given the situation that Heup walked in to. We cant really complain. If Bama does not get their D fixed then they will be in a battle. This team is getting better every game.

Just an FYI-----fans are prohibited from being on the field after games. Wrong place, wrong time.

I wish someone in the secondary had the hands that Jeremy Banks has. Need a pick or two this game bad.

I don't think we fully appreciate how many times we could score this Saturday Night.

We could get as many as 15-16 possessions each if we both go fast the whole game. Ole Miss goes only a little bit slower than us, and neither of us are interested in slowing the game down.

We are averaging 3.32 points per possession this season (and 4.46 the last 2 games). Ole Miss is averaging 3.85 (4.33 vs Ark).

If we run 15 possessions each in the game this weekend, we're both scoring 50.

If we average the same PPP that we just executed to the last 2 weeks...we'll score 67.

I think it will be a shootout, but our defense will deliver a couple more stops than theirs can. I think we win by 10.

Watching a rebuild is interesting and exciting especially with a likeable coach and staff with obvious football chops. The statistical improvement is heartening. I hope their work pays off sooner than later and the Vols trajectory in the W-L column in conference play takes off from here.

I believe it will be a very long, very bumpy ride...I hope a lot of folks understand that. I see the obvious improvement in play and attitude, which the last two games have resulted in really fun games to be a Vol, and that is what I wanted to see from Heupel and staff...and that makes me happy.

Sometimes that improvement will be harder to ascertain.
