I think maybe the comment was racist-adjacent because it's already a well-known racist trope, but this whole thing is absurd. It's absurd. Gruden is hit in the article for calling Brandon a "clueless [synonym-for-part-of-the-female-anatomy]." So what? He shouldn't be losing his job over this. It's absolutely ridiculous.Gruden said Demaurice Smith has lips the size of michellin tires.
Convince me I’m wrong:
What’s racist is the people who think that is racist because they themselves associate big lips with black people.
Our world (United States) has become absurd. Prejudice is wrong, but we have become a country that nit-picks everything. No mercy no grace no forgivenessI think maybe the comment was racist-adjacent because it's already a well-known racist trope, but this whole thing is absurd. It's absurd. Here's a good lesson for every single person reading this: never, and I mean never, say anything on the internet that you would not absolutely stand by were it to be uncovered by the New York Times. Be careful.Apparently there are a lot more derogatory emails. The New York Times uncovered a bunch this evening.
