Roy passed away in 2015. If you go to The Pub forum there are a couple of threads regarding Stud (one entitled RIP TENNSTUD) and another about Gridscape. Mid 90’s until early 2000’s, Chuck had a great site with multiple forums. Sold it to Scout and it went downhill quickly.

i really havne't seen a lot of negative reaction to the alts....like most things, i would say it's probably a vocal minority causing the rucckus. out of sight, out of mind.

the more i look at those unis, the more i like them. find a way to incorporate the old school grey facemask and make it work and i mean.....good grief, those unis are awesome.

Yep, Dabo is naive enough to think he doesn't have to hire outside of his Clemson footprint. Now sprinkle in letting these coaches kids get meaningful reps over recruiting actual 5 stars because they take multiple visits elsewhere, and now you have a pedestrian ball team.

Their descent actually mirrors FSU's in several ways

Won a title with an all-time great QB (Winston) one year only to take that QB back to the playoffs and get embarrassed the next (Oregon vs. FSU)... except Clemson was embarrassed twice in the playoffs.

From there, a steady decline in wins, etc.

Someday in the next 5 - 7 years, they might be cycling coaches and barely treading water.

Life comes at you fast.

It’s more than that going on at Clemson. Dabo made some bad replacement assistant hires that were masked by Lawrence and Etienne. It’s now showing. He needs to overhaul his assistants or he’s going to sink that program.

Clemson in 2021 reminds me a lot of where Texas was in 2010. They had just come off a National Championship game the year before, and had two generational QB's in Vince Young and Colt McCoy. They also had a stout defense led by Will Muschamp. All of that had been masking a steady decline in offensive line play over the last several years, and an inability to effectively run the ball. Texas went 5-7 in 2010 and has never fully recovered to the level they were from 2001-2009. Venables probably won't bail on Dabo like Muschamp did on Mack, but Clemson could be heading toward a decade of regression to their historical mean.

Robbie Caldwell is straight ass and all the Clemson fans will let you know that. Be interesting to see if Dabbo has that Mark Richt blind loyalty to his assistant coaches which leads to their decline. I hope he does.
