@VolsDoc81TX I know this is way out of your field but you're the only one I know with knowledge... How does one find out if cancer has spread to the brain? Wouldn't that have shown on imaging a month ago or can it be there and effecting things while being too small too see? I'm asking because we're having a major episode but his amonia levels have been relatively fine (maybe a slight elevation but even when he's had symptoms those before it's been nothing like this). I know hepatic encephalopathy can absolutely work a number (I've seen it and I've seen the delusions from it) but this is different. This is more like schizophrenia than prior episodes.

MRI of the brain is pretty sensitive. For it to change mood or appear like schizophrenia, it would be a frontal lobe lesion and would be big enough to see with imaging.

Maybe a medication side effect?

Low Sodium level can give really weird mental issues too. High sodium levels can too, which can be associated with diarrhea/lactulose.

Dehydration can also give bizarre mental changes.

Hope that helps.

That does. He's had sodium issues before. It's just so hard to tell when things overlap.

Great time, we always enjoyed a whale watching trip. We lived in Dana Point for years and the Pacific was just a big green desert after living on the gulf coast but trips to Catalina or whale watching were the best of times. Oh and the pods of dolphins never get old
Enjoy
GBO
When we got out over the channel there were thirty to forty of them playing all around the boat..I have never seen that many dolphins before, when we would go out on the gulf you would always see three or four, but nothing like that.

We didn't get to see a whale though.

Has anyone looked into dementia/Alzheimers?

My grandmother is suffering from it now, and her schizophrenia is high. And she sees and talks to people everywhere around her that don't exist.

I asked about early onset Alzheimer’s (he is in his forties) but they’re pretty sure that isn’t it. Liver failure can cause problems very similar to dementia but it’s usually temporary and goes away when the ammonia goes down. With a transplant symptoms of HE usually go away completely within a year. He’s never had serious mental health issues before all of this but because of the HE, liver failure and cancer I’m afraid he might be developing something similar to schizophrenia. He sees things and talks to people as well but normally it goes away with a heavy dose of lactulose.

This time it’s not going away and the last time we went to the hospital it was because he was symptomatic and talking to people/seeing things. I was convinced his ammonia would turn out to be high but it was only slightly elevated. He cleared up and I didn’t think much of it until this episode which has been going on for over a week and getting progressively worse despite regular lactulose.

Did your grandmother have schizophrenia before the dementia? My granny also suffered from it but for the most part she was more stuck in the past and had trouble remembering day to day things. Regardless I’m so sorry to hear that you and your family are having to go through that. It’s a horrible illness.

Sorry to hear about y’all going through this. Without a history of serious mental health, and given his HE, the chances are very unlikely it’s schizophrenia and is most likely episodes of delirium. Schizophrenia usually has an onset in early adulthood. If the episodes are lasting a week or so followed by improvement in orientation and cognition, it’s also probably not Alzheimers. As you alluded to, the hallucinations have occurred in the presence of the HE again suggesting that that’s the cause.

Skeeter was the best

Deerpark was legit during the “adidas” years not so much anymore because he vanished after the switch to Nike.. ATLVOL and Skeeter are OG’s. A lot of people will disagree with me over AtlantaVol but I’ve personally Been in here when he’s relayed info hours before Volquest or 247 picked it up and dropped the news (which turned out to be valid info)…that was enough for me…but I’m also not you @volbeast33 @chargervol @ACvol3 or @UTProf .

Nothing against you guys at all because I get it,instead of looking at the “missed” information dropped by @AtlantaVol maybe y’all need to look at the kind of weight he carries when a tidbit is dropped in here by him👀 rivals forums talk about him along with volquest and 247 literally anytime something is mentioned by him..it starts a whole forum thread post labeled “AtlantaVol” or some s**t like that lol…that kind of weight isn’t carried by just some random average joe or someone “NOT” in the know…that’s all I’ll say…..let’s get a W this weekend boys..Go Vols🤘🏽🧡🤍🟠⚪

Going back to alternate/throwback uniforms. I’d love to see the throwbacks from some point in the 60s when we had the thin black stripe down the middle of the helmet and orange numbers on each side. I realize that’s similar to the Bammers but I thought they looked sweet. That Chad Fields guy on Twitter did some kind of animation (for lack of a better word) and they looked awesome.

This is a comparison of offensive possession outcomes based on ours and Carolina’s respective schedules. The table looks for the number of offensive possessions that end in a TD. I removed possessions that end at the half from the TD% calculation because most of those are running out the clock.

We’ve had one pick six by our defense (against Tennessee Tech) and our special teams have given up one kickoff return (against Missouri). South Carolina has had three pick sixes (one against each of Eastern Illinois, East Carolina, and Troy). They gave up a safety to Georgia. Those scorings are not included in the TD% because we’re just trying to look at how the offense fares when it’s on the field. The only other deviation in scoring is Carolina converted a 2 point attempt against Eastern Illinois. The score column does however include the total team points for the games, for reference.

The ESPN & SAGarin are the current rankings of the teams in the tables by those outlets.

Our OFFENSE has scored 26 TDs on the year and South Carolina’s OFFENSE has scored 9. If you want to eliminate the FCS games, our OFFENSE has scored 19 TDs and Carolina’s OFFENSE has scored a total of 4 TDs on the year.

edit: to change UT banner to DARK MODE.

Well, I agree.
Except if my name's up there, I worded something very poorly, haha.

Simply meant that I never cared about info as much as him helping people.
And just enjoyed seeing people that would never have access to great seats or even to staff members, get that experience because of him. Way more than I ever worried about accuracy of every tidbit.

Don’t include me in the list ….. I don’t have an issue with Atlanta Vol and feel the board is better with him. He was just hard to figure out…. There towards the end….. he missed on a ton of things he told which happens bc recruiting/coaching searches are so fluid….. He did say some things that seemed to contradict itself so I understood why some people stopped trusting his info.
