Don’t think so much of yourself. It was more a response to the entire AV thing that everyone was talking about. Put me on ignore. That’s where you and your petty comment puts you. So sensitive.

You quoted me. Of course, I'm going to respond. That's not thinking highly of myself. That's how message boards work. There's absolutely nothing in the post you quoted that is negative toward AV beyond the implication that he got caught up in the process as all of us are wont to do which isn't actually negative unless you think calling someone a mere mortal like the rest of us is negative. I also gave him credit for helping people but you completely ignored that. The sensitivity isn't on my end. And fwiw, I don't put people on ignore. I prefer civil conversation and will talk to anyone and everyone if they're willing to have an actual conversation.

Yeah potentially although I highly doubt it. You’re talking about a guy who played in the 90s and basically won a national championship that way. It’s hard to change their (or anyone’s) minds about offensive philosophy. Either way I really was just trolling. AL is a legend. Just keep his speeches to defense lol
Al doesn't speak at halftime of the 97 SEC Championship, doubt we win that game. Legend has it, he went absolutely off...on EVERYONE; from the coaches to Manning and Little, the kids stirring the Gatorade to Smokey himself.

That's great to hear. :D I'm afraid that things haven't been very good on my end. Besides the fire, the OH has liver failure and had kidney cancer that was operated on (we think that's taken care of but aren't 100 percent sure). He's currently in hospice but hopefully not to die but rather to wait for a transplant. The bad news is that recently the hospice nurse said her records were that he had cancer in his liver too. That is when my jaw hit the floor because I've been with him every step of the way and at every hospitalization and doctor's appointment.

I'm hoping this is an error because I recall when he was first diagnosed he had a nodule on his liver as well as the malignancy on his kidney but they told me the one on his liver was benign. Some time between that initial hospitalization and the many others that have followed that got switched to malignant without anyone bothering to tell me and I'm hoping this is an error or what the hospice nurse said could be a diagnosis based on the kidney cancer because the area has never been biopsied.

I'm very worried atm though because he's having issues with confusion and the like that don't match his diagnosis or any of his known health problems. Hepatic encephalopathy can and does cause all sorts of confusion when amonia levels rise but his amonia levels have been ok and he had a recent hospitalization due to a siezure and they ran every imaging test on his brain so I know there's no bleed or tumor there. Something else is wrong but right now, I'm trying to figure out which way to go and what exactly should be done about it. We're trying a new med to see if we can at least alleviate the symptoms. We're going to see his liver specialist but I need to get him physically and mentally better than he is right now.

The good news is that last Halloween we celebrated the fact that we never thought he'd make to Halloween and now another Halloween approaches. Whatever else is going on, he's made it a lot longer than the doctors ever thought he would when he first went in. I still think he can make it to a transplant but we have to find out what is causing his current symptoms.

Dang, that's a lot to deal with. At my worst, I remember worrying more about all the stuff my family was having to go thru.

Won't pretend words can make a dent but will say - it's amazing what can happen at any given time. That, I can absolutely attest to, just hang in there.

He can hang out and have beers at some place other than Manning’s restaurant with Peyton. Not many of you can say that. AV is living the good life while you guys debate stupid crap about him. He doesn’t care.

I don't remember this being said but I do remember that we had a yellow year where our jerseys looked awful because the color wasn't right. Anyone else remember this?

2011 irked me. All the staff gear was more orange but the team gear was more yellow.
I'm not 1 of the fashion peeps on here but come TF on! This was ridiculous.

Right now things are insanely tough but kind words, thoughts, and prayers, happy vibes etc. really do help. Believe it or not, spending time here and just talking about everything Vols as well as all the other crazy conversations we have helps me keep my sanity. I’ve got a lot to figure out but staring into it for too long would break me.

This place helps give me a healthy distraction from all that and things like the whooping we put on Mizzou give me something to smile about despite it all. 🤣🙃

No way lol

The black outlined Orange numbers were due to non-John Ward media complaints about not being able to read the numbers during games. The UT admin caved and put the black outline to mollify them. I don’t think of the black outlines as old school, but as the admin changing our jerseys to coddle the media. It always pissed me off for that reason.

i remember hearing that it was forced upon us because of the numbers. I don’t mind the throwback to it every now and then because it was a good era for us but honestly around the end of Adidas contract they got the Orange and White perfect. Nike has replicated it and it looks great. Our colors, when done right are perfection but it’s been difficult for companies to do.

That said I don’t like the black additions for the white uni beyond just the numbers. Adding it to the stripes changes our very iconic uniform into something that could be any orange team whereas our color is unique and instantly recognizable nationally much like ND’s gold domes or Michigan’s traditional helmet.

I once used Rit dyes color mixer for our colors (I had to email them the Pantone number) and the formula they sent me was far more complex than just mixing red and yellow. And then you have to account for how the fabric takes and changes color.
