South Carolina does have a better defense but after watching all of their games I think their defensive ranking can be misleading. They have gotten a lot of turnovers gifted to them through dumb fumbles and dropped catches that lead to interceptions. Teams like Troy and ECU were still able to drive down the field on them but would give the ball away in SC territory.

I’m not sure how good they are in pass coverage since Georgia was really the only team they played that can throw. But they are pretty bad against the run and our tempo should make it even harder for them. I honestly think we win if we score 20 and not lose the turnover battle.

I don't think it can be overstated the pressure that tempo puts on a defense. A defense like Georgia and Alabama can make up for it with sheer talent, but defenses with equal or lesser talent struggle if Tennessee executes.

And to be fair it's just one game, so I'm hopeful this version of Hooker is who we get moving forward. But I remember quite a few times JG had a big game and then vanished again afterwards.

I'm there too. I'm optimistic because Heupel is a great QB coach and he plays to his player's strengths. But Hooker showed an accuracy on Saturday even with the intermediate passes we haven't seen out of him. It's going to be fascinating to watch what he becomes if he keeps improving. He might have a real shot to be a special QB for us next year if he comes back.

The d-line plays with more grit than any since the mid 2000s.(not the best since then).

If we win 8 games this year, beating Ole Miss and KY, we're going to be kicking ourselves hard over that Pitt loss and maybe even Fl. Both of those were winnable games things just hadn't clicked for us yet. But that will show a lot of promise in year 1.

If we win 8 with this roster. This whole staff needs raises and lifetime contracts

The fans should go ahead and start coming back to Neyland. The whole program, from the AD, the coaches, and the players are showing that they are doing their best and getting better every week.

They have done basically everything that the fans have asked of them every week as the season progresses. Fix the QB, fix the d, eliminate penalties, make adjustments, show respect, have fun, etc. The coaches and players are both getting better each week. Not only that, they're producing rankings in the top10 nationally and they're doing it with a shallow roster. They deserve to see how awesome Neyland is when the fans are there and pumped up.

No. I just expect about 85k tennessee fans and 10k usc fans. Don’t know why that’s a slight at UT. It’d be the highest attendance for a home game since (EDIT: October 20, 2018)

When I say Hooker has gotten better, here's the proof:

Left 20+: 2/2, 64 yards, TD/ Middle 20+: 1/1, 24 yards, TD/ Right 20+: 0/1 (DB tugged on Tillman)

Left 11-20: N/A/ Middle 11-20: 2/3, 28 yards, Payton dropped a TD/ Right 11-20: 0/1

Left 0-10: 1/1, 7 yards/ Middle 0-10: N/A/ Right 0-10: 3/4, 54 yards

Left Behind LOS: 3/3, 16 yards/ Right Behind LOS: n/a; Right Behind LOS: 3/3, 46 yards, TD

Go back and look at his passing chart in previous weeks. It looked nothing like that. He also is not turning the ball over the way he did the first 3 weeks. Really excited about this.

I call them USC because my family has called them that my entire life. Half of them being fans of theirs, a quarter being Tennessee fans and the other quarter being clemson fans

Caller on Ainge just had a good point.. nobody is really talking about it because it doesnt show up on the stat sheet, but Byron Young was destroying his guy Saturday. He got really close to the QB several times. He’s going to make a big impact soon IMO

I can’t get over that Florida loss. They still had everything left on the table for this season, and they let an ok Kentucky team take their season away from them. Now they have nothing left to play for except maybe spoiling Georgia’s season.

If you want to know why Mullen is Mehlen, that’s why. He really is a good coach, but that guy always finds a way to meh in the worst possible spots. And I don’t know how much longer Florida is going to put up with it.

Waiting for the PFF grades as a tiebreaker. Getting lined up and the ball snapped before the 30 second clock ends would’ve been an improvement.

QBs that can run worry me.. that’s why ole miss makes me nervous. If they have a one dimensional run game, our defense is lights out.

According to Hubbs, Banks was like 2nd or 3rd on the list, and he turned us down. So we interviewed 97 more candidates, and then circled back to Banks and offered all the monies and he took it.
