Crushing Defeat...

I watch the Spurrier presser after Tennessee beat him in Sc in OT every time he smarts his mouth off. Vols ran him outta the swamp & killed his drive in SC when Dobbs beat them in OT in ‘14.

I was just about to bring this up. Spurrier walking off after losing that game is the best presser I ever saw...

Regardless of what he said, I bet he was thinking of firing the DC by the end of the 1st. If not, he should have been.

Seems that Drinkwitz and Mizzou are sort of in the boat Dooley was in after hiring Sal Sunseri as DC. Eli is a good OC/playcaller and there is talent on the offense but they need to cut down the penalties. DC - Wilks has tried to install a new defense that is an absolute disaster. Heupel and his boys had "a fun day" as Tiyon Evans predicted and boatraced that defense. It will be interesting to see if Missouri can regroup or they are totally down for the count. I doubt Drinkwitz fires Wilks due to the salary buyout involved.

He like many others underestimated the potential of this UT team.

Some of you guys thought MU was more talented. Some said it was a sure loss. Some claimed Drink would outcoach Heupel.

I told you guys they had talent gaps.

They deserved the beat down and I was kind of mad we didn't hit 40+ differential. Hopefully the team prepares right again and we'll get to see a complete game against SC.

I agree. Besides, he never once credited Tennessee for a well played game. F’him and feed him beans…
THIS right here. He was all about his embarrassment and of course his team's embarrassment. The great Bear Bryant always always complimented the opponent after a defeat. It would have showed a touch of class to at least casually mention our team "growing into a new system" or executing or some positive note to at least acknowledge the opponent. One could interpret his remarks as a response to losing to a FCS team. I now hope we boat race them again the next several years. No foot off the pedal. Sorry, but that blew my respect for this guy. "Butch Jones light" there.

Getting thrown some props from this coach and Mizzou, would probably be close to getting props from UT's football coach from last season. I mean really, what's it worth?
Well, here is the thing. At times like these when one's character is on full display.......one's character is on full display. So you see the real insides of a guy. And he chose to focus on his own embarrassment, with zero class. That's all we are sayin.

Eli is a lesser Butch Jones. Let that sink in. He shoulda known better taking a job in the SEC. So I don't fill sorry for him
Should have known better? That’s an idiotic statement. Coaches are professionals and they strive for the best. Just like in life, some cut it and some don’t.

I never rejoice in the difficulty of others. I understand that this business of college football has it's stresses. Families make a place a home, have dreams about being in a place for some time, make friends, etc. However, it feels good not to be on this end of a postgame presser. For whatever reason (62 points and could have been 82) this loss was crushing for Mizzou. If you watch this video prepare to see a completely deflated coach. Now, if we can only make coaches and teams that actually matter have some pressers like this going forward (even though I kind of hate it for guys like Eli, not so much for some others to be named at a later date). POSTGAME PRESSER: Eli Drinkwitz Week 5 vs Tennessee - YouTube

That interview was hard to watch. Glad not to be on that side of it this time. Drinkwitz seems like a good guy. Well spoken.

Tennessee came out looking for a fight and kept landing haymakers. He does not know what happened, and didn’t know what to say.

Been a few years since I’ve seen this. Thanks for the reminder and the laugh.

I personally dont have any issue with Drinkwitz.

Not gonna look for perceived slights after they got annihilated. Everyone knows what the scoreboard showed and that is all that really matters.

This was just one of those games that got out of hand early and then his guys just quit.
