So looks like I'm going to making the road trip to Columbia, MO for the game this weekend. Anyone made the trip for a game before? Should I expect a stadium the equivalent to a large HS stadium? Sell alcohol there? Any good bars, etc.?
They do sell beer, not sure about mixed drinks.

We can get to 8-4 and 9-3 consistently with Heupel. He needs to find a QB.

I don’t ever foresee a day where we compete for NC again. Not on a regular basis, at least. We’re so far from that that it doesn’t even register in my mind. UT flushed that down the toilet with every decision from the moment they decided to fire Fulmer.

But go 8-4, 9-3 with an upset here or there and maybe sneak into an expanded playoff down the line. Get there and then we can start talking about even attempting to climb that hill again.

This kind of got me depressed.

Platelet rich plasma…it’s regenerative medicine. We use it in horses. If they did that to him, I will guess he might be out until after the bye week.
I looked it up and it says that it cuts recovery in half….typically out 2-3 weeks but that is from a website I looked at.

So Dan Harralson wrote this article on how the mesh route UT ran on the 4th down against UF where Callaway dropped the ball was not executed properly....the reason why Callaway dropped the ball? The anticipation of the defenders footsteps behind him....lol

Holy moly. If you read the entire article, he also embeds a video of MSU running the mesh correctly. There are defenders closer to the WR in that video than the defender behind Calloway.

I agree with your premise. We are literally light years behind GA, and Bama, and even to Florida to lesser extent. So if you go ahead and concede those that put's you at 3 losses. Everyone in the west is currently more talented or just a better place with their program with the exception of MSS. You have a better chance of drawing a team that will most likely beat from the west so that puts you at 4 losses.

Then you can't be scheduling Oklahomas and Oregons, you're going to have to keep the gimmies on the schedule and maybe another team similar to Pitt. Then you're going to have to sweep, all of the rest of the east. That's a tall order at least for the time being. My point is that it's an uphill climb even to get to 8 wins. I do look at it in tiers. The first goal is to become a solid number 3 in the east where KY, SC, Mizzou, and Vandy are forgone conclusions. Tier two would be to upset one of your rivals. Obviously, tier 3 would be to compete for the east. That's an extremely tall task that will take years and years to achieve. Probably a decade if Heup's the guy. All JMO.

This is probably the most accurate and reasonable take. There is hope that it is possible to be the top dog again because we were in the 90's, but it is going to take years and a fair amount of luck to get back there.

When you look at who we have to play every year...

If the expand the playoffs to however many teams, we need to take Bama off our schedule. Sorry not sorry. I don’t care if y’all wanna play the best. I want to win and get to the playoffs. Wins = recruits, recruits = beating Bama.

No recruit is going to sit there and say damn they don’t play Bama...next. So yes, we need to make our schedule much easier.

If they make a 8 team playoff, we have a shot making it at 10-2, maybe even 9-3. You take Bama off, we have a much easier time getting there.

If we were in the ACC we could win 8-9 games this year and would be top 20 lol. So much easier to rebuild in sh* conferences

That’ll never happen. I do sometimes think we will due to all of the talk we are taking academics more seriously than sports lol

My greatest fear in last few years is working it's way thru the system. We'll get our act together about the time college football of old is gone by wayside due to NIL and College Football Players Union, which is back in the news!

So all y'all "we'll never be good" crowd, how y'all figure that Arky and OleMiss managed to get ranked in the 2nd year of a new head coach? Both programs were in shambles. Doubt either one recruited well.

Can't say that Heup is the guy yet, but goodness, let's give him at least a year or two to undo over a decade of dysfunction before we bury the program.
