New nug: I usually wait till I have all the info I can get but this one made me laugh so I wanted to go ahead and share…. No…. This is not any excuse for Joe bc he has played horribly…. Just sharing what I was told….. Apparently Joe is really bad nearsighted…..His contacts had been bothering him so he hadn’t been wearing them…. He is being sent to an eye doctor this week to get his vision fixed

What's interesting is that I was listening to swain this morning and price was on there and he mentioned that Joe had glasses on walking into the complex yesterday. He made a joke if it on the show but now hearing this makes you wonder if there is clout to it.

Personally I think it’s more to do with our mid range guys.

I don’t think Mitchell should play over Beasley or Page. He kills us in the pass game and has absolutely no closing speed. He got out ran by Emory Jones even though he had the angle.

Our safeties are terrible mid range.

Pass rush needs to improve but that can be fixed with technique. They are getting the push they just aren’t getting off blocks.

They haven’t been great but i think it all starts up front. If we’re getting after the QB then we don’t have to cover as long in the back end. The way we funnel the runs though, it calls for an 2nd or 3rd level defender to be the primary tackler so it’s by design that they are in position to make or miss tackles. I think our LBs have been solid though. Especially banks.

Yeah…. He is by far the most consistent on deep throws in practice according to my person….. it is almost like he gets too jacked up during games that he over throws everyone……my person said Hooker had an awesome week of practice heading into Florida…. I kept that info to myself bc I knew everyone would be on it if he sucked really bad. 😂
What's your person saying about the starter for this Saturday

Our back end guys are never around the football though

Why are people starting threads in the RF?
Do they think this is the FF
Allow me to help you all with a handy decision tree:

Step 1: Navigate directly to the VNRF (volnation.com/forum/forums/tennessee-vols-recruiting.25/)
Step 2: Identify a thread
Step 3: Is the thread title "Recruiting Forum Football Talk **"?

If yes, enter the thread.
If no, return to step 2.

I mean hands down Theo Jackson to this point has been our best defensive player.

1st in tackles
1st in TFL
1st in sacks
1st in PDs

Baron & Blakely have been the best on the DL and Banks has thus far been our best LB. The players are playing better, so whatever Banks & company are doing is working. Hopefully more experience just leads to more success and they get/stay healthy. I've been impressed with what I've seen from Beasley & Page in the LB group as well. Also Byron I have high hopes for, only played in 2 games and is already 11th on the team in tackles...just hasn't been playing in the backfield like we expected him to be.

How cool is it gonna be when Lasik Joe wins a Heisman? Am I right? 🤣

Page has been our worst linebacker. Other than a pick, he hasn’t done much. Beasley has played much better
