we could. we also have to play an entire game. we have to run to win. Can Huepel do that?

I know run-to-pass is an old school football mantra, but if we have success on the ground maybe Hooker can start hitting some passes. This could be a great momentum builder and generate some conference for the offense (and team on the whole) over these next two weeks.

yeah. he's already shown here to put an emphasis on it. we ran the ball, really well at times, against FL. went to it solely against BGSU, and ran ok against Pitt.

i think the thing holding our run game back right now is the inconsistency in the passing game, specifically the long ball. i think he'd like to go for shock plays about 5-6 times a game and hit on 4 minimum. do that, and it opens a lot of things for the run game.

right now, we're on the one dimensional side of things. but, if they do get any better from the pocket, use the tempo, i expect the RB's to do well, and probably get some big runs along the way.

long story short...pass to set up the run, that's where he wants to get to, imo

Tiyon needs to eat, guy needs more touches.

Small nugs: thinks Hooker is good to go….. he participated in all the strength training and conditioning today…. More than a few getting rehab and/or riding bikes on the side….. doesn’t think anything is serious and all of them has a chance to play Saturday…. Cooper was getting rehab today but he was walking well so hopefully he will be good to go.
and based on Heupel saying he is not in concussion protocol he should be good to go.

Looks like it was probably a neck/stinger type situation.

I agree with all of this. In the case of Mizzou, if they're already giving up the run, do you run to open the pass? I do think you're right, though. Heupel wants to air the ball wherever, whenever, and toss in some runs to keep the defense spooked. He wants every play to go for 20 yards lol.

i think it's more apathy, at least for me, than negativity. i'm not mad at the staff or anything. moreso the situation. hopeful CJH and co can change that. it'd be nice if it was sooner than later.

Absolutely, my apathy has been hard to overcome for years. Now I’m just hanging around looking for proof of life from the program.

I'm likely in the minority here, but I am not completely out on Milton. He's shown flashes of what he could be. Work on touch and vision and he could be a completely different looking QB in the future. He still has to earn the spot back though :)
Is that a quote from his high school coach or junior high coach?

[insert why not both gif here]

Good. After Saturday I'm ready to admit Hooker is the best we got

We have 4 rushers over 100 yards, and Evans/Small both at 200.

Milton & Hooker are the other 2 over 100 yards. I'll say it one more time, the lack of good OL play is why Bailey isn't pushing to start or being the #2.

Also Hooker has to be the guy moving forward unless he hurts himself just hope that he stays healthy and balls out.

well, if what he did against BGSU holds true, he'll take the path of least resistance. if they come out and really try to load up to stop the run, overload the box, he's gonna be 'weapons free' with the qb. if they sit back w/2 safeties deep, he's gonna feed 8 and 2, and run the qb.

eh,i still care...i just don't have the expectations any more... the FL game played out pretty much exactly like i thought it would, but i was still pissed. i got over it a lot faster tho. lol.

Ryder Cup thought...the Tiger inspired generation is going to kick major ass for a while.
I had that thought too over the weekend. Most of these young guys probably idolized him and spent years trying to craft their game and competitiveness after him. Whoever that was the beat Rahm yesterday just kind of walking around like "no big deal"...I was like damn that's some cold-blooded nerves of steel.

Yeah, watching this season unfold it seems like Heupel was coaching his style more than his team. In the case of BGSU and Pitt, he moved to coaching the team he has. In TTU he just unloaded. In the Florida game it looked more like he was coaching his team to try to fit his style. I think he's showing good progression and not being stubborn.
