If he "fails" it will be due to a lack of talent. Not his system or coaching ability.

There is no doubt he is going to be at a talent disadvantage 3-5 times a year. He HAS to coach a program that plays better than his talent and nothing in his resume suggest he can do that.

We are so thin that I’m not sure we can make it. The more injuries keep stacking up with a team already at 71 scholarships, the more I don’t think we can do it. We have to stay healthy and we are not doing that. It is a major drop off when Coop leaves the O line. If Baron goes down, we seem to have no pass rush. Our margin for error is so thin and we haven’t played Bama or UGA yet. Need this Mizzou win bad.

Time (TOP) is relative. We had 68 offensive plays and Florida had 68 offensive plays. We play fast; they play slow. Our defense had all the time in the world. I mean it's not like they're working that hard between plays. In fact much of the time they have more than ample time for a quick nap between plays, relatively speaking of course. jmo.

Penalties - they're part of the game. Alabama has more penalties and penalty yards than we do so far this year.

Drops - they happen.

All these things and more are magnified because number one we lose. But the reason we lose and Alabama doesn't is because they have the talent to cover over a lot of "mistakes" and we don't. We need to play almost perfect in every way and that I think is just not realistic, not for us, not for anybody. The only way to consistently win is to match or exceed the talent and coaching of our competitors. jmo.

When we lose we remember the bad. When we win we remember the good. If we would just win the bad wouldn't matter that much anymore. jmo.

It's hard not to like the offensive scheme. Guys are running wide open all over the field.

No doubt that’s the case. And even as negative as I’ve been, there’s no way anyone could suggest the offense won’t soon score a lot of points under Heupel.

However, I do have questions about efficiency. Because you go so fast and the are so many extra possessions for both teams, is it imperative your efficiency metrics are really, really good?

I guess I don’t know how to word what I’m thinking: you can get guys running open all over the field because you split your WRs out so wide and have them run insane routes for 60 minutes. There’s no doubt the opposing defense will get tired. But by that same measure, do things like 3rd down efficiency, red zone efficiency, penalties and turnovers become MORE important for an offense like this than others?
