What’s the likelihood that we see civil unrest soon?

It is absolutely insane what is happening in Australia. People say "this will never happen in America because we still have our guns". While I tend to agree that we are a ways from this actually happening here, it is concerning to see how many sheep we have here in America who are willing to do whatever the government says to do all in the name of "staying safe". If given the opportunity politicians will find a way to convince a majority of Americans that we need to turn in our guns.

Yep, it’s amazing how many people in this country have to have the government think for them...

The police will be called in to collect them and will gladly go along. If you expect to fight back they'll bring in the Ng. When we get to that point guess my family will either give in or head to the hills.
That's an interesting question. I'm sure Ras thinks 100% of cops would do as they're told. I'm sure some would but all of the cops I know have told me that they wouldn't ever do it. They said they would quit first. When it comes to feeding your family, losing a pension etc. it would change some people's perspective.

A 100 acre plot in Wyoming is looking more and more enticing every day for sure.

Do you realize how stupid this post was?

"We realize that criminals will still possess guns but it's only reasonable to take them away from non-criminals that don't abuse them."
You are forcing me to highlight how stupid this is.

Where did I say pain meds should be taken from people with prescriptions?
Where did I say guns should be taken from law abiding citizens?

Good luck.

LOL. You want to take their pain meds and replace them with tylenol.

I still have a little more faith in the military (enlisted) than I do law enforcement.

I still think the first real hoop that get's jumped through before a balloon really goes up is if/when a state(s) simply say something like "This decree will not be enforced within the boundaries of our state." and see what goes from there.

DeSantis had his chance to lead and he fumbled.

At least in the context of this conversation we're talking about something a bit more clear cut than what to do about companies and vax mandates.

It's going to take a governor with strong legislative backing to stand up to the fed .gov. I just don't know if there is one out there.

I'm not blind to the fact that pain meds could potentially be improved. I guess you are.
More stupid ass blathering from you. It would be idiotic to limit the effectiveness on pain meds and thus limiting a Dr’s capability to control a patients pain, a patient abiding by the Dr’s prescription, due to other individuals unlawfully abusing prescription pain meds.

The Texas border situation is setting up for this. The Texas legislature is solidly behind Abbott. Abbott put a “put up or shut up” demand on the clown in chiefs desk with the request for an emergency declaration. The clown will not agree to that. And I’m guessing Abbott expects that.

States that have passed Constitutional Carry and/or some variation of the Firearms Freedom Act would be the first in line to watch.
