It doesn't make sense to me. People are telling me not to believe my eyes. My eyes saw him as the best QB on our roster last year, yet they played JG. My eyes saw him be far better than what Hooker and Milton have shown us in the spring game, and yet he isn't playing. I don't know what it is. I do know that he actually has the ability to pass the football and the other two guys do not. My eyes have seen it

Agreed. Dobbs was same way. 2014 written all over it. I will say Milton and hooker are clearly better than Worley and peterman so a little more understandable

Never in a million years. The mega-successful system he's got extends well beyond the university. He can't put that together in California. He'd have to do a ton more work for a lot less results.

Dobbs' accuracy didn't improve a lot.

Yeah I was curious what they were talking about. He found ways to still be productive without being accurate. He never became consistently accurate as a passer.

The jump in yards per attempt his senior year combined with a flat to slightly higher completion % likely means he was more accurate. He was throwing down the field a lot more his senior year.

Some are mentioning Fickell for the USC job, but I just don’t see it…he’s a Midwestern guy. Not enough flash for SoCal.

I lived in LA for several years after growing up in a small TN town. Worked in the entertainment industry. JMO, but being successful there is more about how one holds up under the spotlight. I think Fickell could do well there.

What about them is overrated? They aren’t ranked. They seem to be rated exactly where they should be to me. I think several people on this board overrated the Vols which is an easy thing to do when you’re a fan.

Meh, it's TN freakin Tech. If JM misses his first couple bombs, then go to Hooker and let HB have 2H. Should be ~20 pt game by half and 40 pt win by the end anyway.

Buuut if he starts hitting deep shots, then there ya go. Like someone else said, he's like a bball player that just needs to see the ball go through the hoop first. He has the yips...max yips.

This is a tune up game for Florida (and SEC play in general), and we have plenty to tune up.

I would feel much better letting Hooker get a full week with the 1st team than rolling into another week just hoping Milton remembers how to not throw the ball as far as he can every play.

Not for nothing it would also show Heupel is willing to use his eyes during the game and see who played the better game, instead of stubbornly trying to justify his preseason pick.

Why do I feel like I’ve accidentally wondered into the FF? Oh I know, Checkerplank and Cat. @Catbone, it’s went way past old. Kid, dial it in. I like you, and here’s the but, the attention crap gets old sometimes. Oh, and @Checkerplank (board), your commentary is pretty much overlooked for the asinine takes.

Jeff Francis and Pat Ryan on Big Orange Hotline talking QB. The big takeaway is Pat says the offensive scheme is working at a really high level and both think we’ve got more playmakers than they had expected. Like everyone else their issue is the overthrows by Milton as being the number one issue.

Jeff and Pat both gave props to our defense. Everyone likes Theo Jackson. (My own opinion is that Theo wears a cape).

Bob said 8 of our 13 penalties were on first down.

They all say Milton has the highest ceiling in our QB room. Jeff said before Dobbs he’d always thought that accuracy was something you either had or didn’t. Both He and Pat said Josh Dobbs changed their mind on that by the time he got to his senior year. His accuracy improved a lot in his time here and of course, they noted, he’s still in the league.

Arkansas got fined $100,000 for fans storming the field after their win over Texas, Jeff and Pat said the razorback fans responded, “Is that all?” (aside – I did that at Neyland once when I was home on leave from the Navy. I’d gone to the game with childhood friends who were students at UT. Like I said last week, I don’t remember who we played or anything about the game. I just remember who I was with and how much fun we all had).

Jeff & Pat gave the offensive line a “C” for a grade based on the performance they had Saturday. Both say they really think barring injuries this is going to be a much better football team in November.
