I think Covid and Pruit and Co. derailed him all last year, I know Pruitt had zero plans for using him until he had to, and then threw a totally completely unprepared kid to the lions...with a team around him that had totally quit.

No wonder he didn't play great at first, but he steadily improved despite garbage coaching and played a hell of a game the last game he had a chance to start.

I think the kid must have physical deficiencies, plus little real coaching before this spring, plus I think he may be one of those guys that just doesn't practice well.

If he goes in and blows up it is going to look bad on Heupel to a lot of people, but not to me. I get why he wants Miltons light to come on.
This is what Heup is trying to prevent from happening. The HC screwed up the QB situation from day 1 and he had his real man setting on the bench this entire time. The HC will have to admit that he screwed up is not a good look for him, especially a supposed to be a QB and offensive guru.

We have seen this show before. Where a coach rides with a certain QB no matter what, even though he has no business being on the field and we know how this show ends.
Heupel has a track record of proven success at QB. He sees the QBs every day in games and practice. I'm not going to act like Heupel doesn't know what he's doing with the QBs after the second game.

Why are people posting bad things about Hooker when he outplayed Milton and looked better? His stats are better overall and he moved the ball for our offense. This offense has a lot of turnovers do to more possessions and chances for them. But it also scores a lot. I don’t see anyone posting videos of Milton at Michigan. And he was worse at Michigan than Hooker at VT.

Imo what hurt Bailey the most was the lack of a real strength and conditioning program in spring and summer due to Covid. He also was quarantined twice before season started. For a kid that needed work in weight room to slim and strengthen up it really hurt him. He looks a lot better physically after one real offseason when I saw him on field Saturday . Time as 3rd strong honestly not the worst thing for him to get more weight room work and more film study. If he sticks with it which I don’t see him as a kid that causes issue then I think you could see it pay off for him later this season.

I personally enjoyed watching Hooker play at VT granted I only saw him play Miami and Liberty his probably two best games lol so I thought we were getting a solid guy. When I saw Milton play Indiana I was not impressed but gave benefit of doubt if the hand injury and boy does he look good in practice setting and just throwing the ball. You see stuff like that Hyatt throw and go holy cow then you see the Tillman throws and cry. Then with Hooker you see wow plays with legs and then occasionally whoops carelessness with the ball

Man no one will care if we are winning. He inherited a mess and is playing who he thinks will win. If he turns to Bailey and he lights it up, I could care less. Eventually he made the right call. What I will hold against him is continuing to play Milton and him continuing to struggle. Hooker outplayed Milton and deserves QB1 reps now. I hope Bailey gets some reps against TT too. We need to see how all perform in games.

ya know what, the Milton/Hooker/HB discussions don't seem all that bad anymore... JC

Serious accusations that are unfounded at this point. I don't believe that Norvell was passed over by many P5 schools. Memphis ponied up to pay him over $2 million, so he had a great thing going and was only interested in high level P5 jobs. He could wait just like Luke Fickell is doing.

Norvell did have some history of being spotted at casinos, but I don't think it was ever determined if it was routine or just that he was spotted there. That administration at FSU is making a run at being worse than ours (and probably is). Mike Norvell is a good coach and a good recruiter. As long as his personal life checks out, he would get another G5 job if he got fired at FSU.

I agree, I dont care if Heup screwed it up with Milton. Just play the right man and get on with it. Milton is not the man and most knows this. I want Heup to make it here. I actually like him.

Year 1, game 2. Expectations give disappointment a seat at the table. Winning football is no regrets football.

You should update your views with new information...Hooker played better...so anyone with a brain would say Hooker deserves the start, regardless what Cannon Milt does in practice
Maybe you should update your views and read the comment before the one you replied to. I said after the game that Hooker should start and Milton should never see the field again.

Facts were posted. Plenty of facts have been posted about Milton. Ya'll got to get over this. We all just want to win.

I got it...it's obvious now. These 50 yard throws are low probability. Milton hits them all in practice, but reversion to the mean occurs in games. It's science. He just needs to suck more in practice. Right?

Maurer would have connected on some of those missed open passes... JG would have hit at least two on a bad day... we all know it. HB SHOULD be able to hit all of them... crazy...
Did you not get enough comments on a similar take you had a few hours ago? Thought you'd try it again?
