Tiffany's Thread (updates and prayers, and a place where she can smack Joe in public when he needs it :)

O Lord, through the passion of the most sacred heart of Jesus, I beseech Thee to heal Tiffany. We thank you for giving her and her family the courage to face the situations so that others may see your perpetual light shining through them, a beacon of strength that overcomes setbacks, and reaffirms your precious love for all. In the name of Jesus Christ, King of Kings, please hear and bless this prayer O Heavenly Father. Amen

Hope Tiffany is doing well. Seeing a page of mal's prayer, must be a good thing.
She's been holding up fair. She had to go have some antibiotic treatments last week. She had got to feeling a little rough, they did blood work, and did the treatment. We did find out the iron infusion didn't help, she's still got low blood.

continuing prayers,
hope this past weekend's homecoming was good for her, too

She's loved it. It's worn her out though, she's tried not sleeping, getting a nap, and she's not used to not resting
What's weird is I have to much Iron. My doctor said I have to go donate blood or I could get a blood clot. So I am in Iron overload and not sure why. I pray for your wife and as long as you have each other you all will be alright. Nothing like family. And good friends.

Thank you, and take care of yourself!

Do you donate blood?

No will have to start.
Did he say anything about “hemochromatosis”? I don’t think that most people have too much iron from eating high-iron food, otherwise all the steak eaters would have excessive iron.

If you have hereditary hemochromatosis, it’s generally not a big problem, but you do need to donate blood to keep it under control (hey, it used to be blood-letting, so there’s that.)

Before my wife got sick, she occasionally had to take iron supplements. She received a couple of transfusions while she was intubated. After that, we had three or four situations when her iron level has just shot sky high (out of the blue), and they talked about blood donation for her. None of the doctors have a clue why, unless the spikes were somehow related to the transfusions. Thankfully, we haven't had to deal with that in a good while. It made her feel terrible sometimes. Rocy, I hope you'll be okay, my friend. Thoughts and prayers your way.

Only ~4 in 10 Americans can donate blood. If you're eligible to give, please do so.
Try donating "double red" if you can. Amazing how much better you will feel. Mine used to run at the very high end of normal. Not anymore though.
Thank you for your gift of life.

I'm a long time donor. Whole blood, ~6 times a year. Doing so improves my health as well as that of those in need of a transfusion.

I have just become eligible to start giving again. Eliquis disqualified me for a long time.

My oldest, my wife, and I are all ineligible to give blood. We were in Europe during the time frame that makes it so.
