Coronavirus (No politics)

How old was Phil Valentine? 60+. I’ve yet to known the first person to have died from or with Covid. So whatever you say coronabro. You remind me of the liberals, who when polled with a multiple choice survey about the chances of being hospitalized if you contract covid, overwhelmingly choose the >40% option. When in fact the % of those who contract covid that are hospitalized is 1-5%.

I’ve known several to have passed. Most had other conditions, diabetes, smokers, asthma, obesity, etc. it’s serious for a lot of people.

And it’s not serious for the other 99.5%.

I agree. If you have those risk factors, you need the vax. 19 yr olds taking it so I can watch college football on Sat is stupid. Sec, ncaa, etc won’t be around to help the 38 yr old guy support his family when he has heart or liver issues.

Got this message from a friend of mine in Ohio, been weighing on me, feel helpless.

i just got home from 6 hours at the ER....and yes it is covid.....my chest x-ray came back good tho, and my oxygen level was still 96% DR was very happy with that and said i was a candidate for a monoclonal antibody infusion, so i agreed and they gave it to me while i was there along with some potassium and nausea med.....my sister is in bad trouble tho ...so please send up some prayers for her....she has the covid pneumonia and is too bad to be a candidate for the antibody treatment......they were still trying to find a hospital that can take her when i was discharged

i am scared for her

the dr kept lookingn me right in the eyes when he say just how bad she was

like he wanted me to understand its very very bad

we been suffering trying to pretend it was not covid

stupid

dad has the cough...i am calling his DR tomorrow

the nurse at the ER says they prescribe him the antibody treatment as an outpatient

Just found out a 47 yo guy I used to work with died Friday of Covid. Left behind 2 teenagers. He was unvaccinated. Went to the local Chattanooga hospital coughing up some blood but oxygen levels were not low enough to be admitted due to lack of beds. Gave him some meds and sent him home. Died in his sleep the next night which likely wouldn’t have happened if he had been in the hospital with his blood oxygen being monitored.

One more real life example of someone unvaccinated.

Dang. That's young.

Dang. That's young.
Seems younger every day. I still can’t wrap my mind around why so many in this country are so convinced they should not be vaccinated? I understand the shot doesn’t offer 100% guarantee of immunity and that’s what’s desired, but the death numbers of unvaccinated should be a huge incentive but they’re not. Wonder how many infected are being sent home due to lack of beds then their situation takes a turn for the worse and they don’t get back to seek medical assistance soon enough? I was told by another ex coworker today that AT&T has set a deadline for employees to be vaccinated or they will be considered in violation of the company’s code of ethics with the possibility of up to termination for those that refuse. Will be interesting to see how that shakes out.

I just want to know why in the hell people will not adhere to the policies in place at various stores? What makes people think it is fine to just ignore the signs at every entrance specifying that everyone must wear a mask, vaccinated or not? That many people can't be illiterate and/or blind so I am left to assume they are just ****ing assholes.

If people learned from others mistakes we would have already defeated Covid.

Always with the long, drawn-out "well hear me out, don't hate me for what I'm gonna say" when it's a lifesaving vaccine to save your life. So many eggshells. Who wants to be friends with people like that, that would disown you or judge you for getting a shot?

testing positive for Covid?

IMO that would be a huge blow if he can’t play Saturday. Kid is a damn good running back and one of TN’s greatest weapons.
Not very smart unless it is a vaccine breakthrough. If players want to play, they must prepare for the season and part of that is getting vaccinated not only for Covid but for all the other vaccine preventable diseases. When Majors was coaching, Old Miss hd an outbreak of measles and they had something like 12 starters miss a ball game because they were infected with the disease. Majors was wise enough to get his team vaccinated and he lost no one because of the disease. The SEC was smart when they ruled that any game not played because of Covid would be a loss and not replayed. The team physician may have let Evans down by not insisting he get the vaccine. If he has Covid and has been around team mates, they may have to be isolated even if they have been vaccinated. It will tough enough to beat Pitt with a out a full roster.

I'm sure every team is insisting but again it's his body his choice at the end of the day.

It is, but if he was not vaccinated, he has let himself and his team mates down. Being part of a team is doing what it takes to help the team win. I am sure there are other running backs who are very willing to take his place on the field.

Him being vaccinated or not vaccinated has nothing to do with letting the team down at all lol people need to stop this vaccine talk as it's becoming very hypocritical very quickly. Who knows he may have a medical reason as to why he shouldn't get the vaccine and he doesn't wanna talk about his medical problems. After all medical records are protected and it's up to him, not the team, to make the decision if he wants to get vaccinated or not.

That is some next level peer pressure you are suggesting.

He for sure is not helping the team if he is not playing. Vaccine are safe and effective Unfortunately, you can not ask those who have died fro the disease if they would want to get the vain now.\. However, there are many who stated in their last breath, that wished they had gotten the vaccine. Too were too late to make that lifesaving decision.
