The loophole was that he asked and did not agree to accept. The language of the regulation was accepts or agrees to accept and somehow that was different than blatantly requiring it.I understand the spin put on it by the ncaa….. they had Cecil Newton on tape asking MSU for money…. An unnamed large anonymous donation made to cecils church…. FBI busting a booster for gambling machines that was accused of funneling money to boosters….I guess the ncaa had to have a selfie of him receiving money before they had proof….. The moment they received audio of his dad telling schools a scholarship wasn’t enough and that he had to have at least 150,000-180,000 to get him to go to your school.
That’s my point when I say tell the ncaa to suck it…. I mean stand your ground…. Fight and don’t give them anything….. The ncaa has no investigative properties nor the intestinal fortitude for a fight….. it has been my experience that when you do all the work for them then they will thank you and penalize you more than if you stand your ground…. I’m trying to keep an open mind about our situation though. The loophole was that he asked and did not agree to accept.
