I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume prior infection provides a degree of protection. I wouldn’t argue with that, and don’t think most people would. I don’t really have a problem with anybody who’s been infected in the past 3-6 months waiting to get the shot.
I think it’s also pretty reasonable to assume that the further away from your infection/vaccine the less protection you have. Anybody who had the virus at the beginning of pandemic, was first in line for the vaccine, or hasn’t had either should probably get the vaccine.
The biggest issue I have with people avoiding the vaccine because they had covid, is many of these people say they “had covid” without actually getting tested. If you had symptoms and a positive test then my thoughts are the ones above. If you maybe/maybe not had it then get the vaccine.
