Neverending MBRO memory thread

It's amazing at the things I've seen on the road. I know a guy who moved from the other side of Atlanta to up here. He was hauling stuff on a trailer, and his couch fell off. He said there was no stopping to get it because of traffic. It actually made the news that night 🤣. Thankfully, it didn't cause an accident.

When I was living in Northern VA a buddy of mine from Memphis stayed with me when he drove up to Baltimore to buy a boat.

He attached the trailer and began driving back to Memphis. Somewhere in SW VA a tire came off the trailer, bounced to the dry grassy roadside and started a grass fire along the interstate.

We got caught on the Arkansas side of the (only) road bridge across the Mississippi at Memphis, when a truck jack-knifed. The tractor was on the bridge, but the trailer with approximately 47 quintillion bags of onions hung over the side. Most onions wound up in the river, but plenty were up on the road bed.

Since we were coming from the west, I assume that’s when we were in Houston, so that would be early 60’s. Maybe fourth grade.

I still remember the smell, and if I guessed the date range right, it must have made an impact.

— it definitely could have been later than that, but I have this image of being *that* close to my grandmother’s house, but stuck for hours.

I was telling everyone to look at the sparks it was slinging, then grabbed it in a certain spot and it bit me🤣
