So what do you say to unvaccinated Democrats?True story from today. 61 year old female comes in to ER, cough/congestion/chest pain/SHOB, O2 sat will drop to 86% on room air. I start an IV, draw some blood, etc.
Me: “I’m going to swab you for COVID also.”
Her: “I tested negative a week ago. Was it maybe too soon?”
Me: “Maybe too soon, maybe too late, maybe a false negative…who knows? Did you get your vaccine?”
Her: (Stares)
Me: (Stares back)
Her: “I’m a diehard Republican……and I guess I might die hard.”
Me: “You took the words out of my mouth so now I don’t have to say them.”
She tested positive.
Nobody questioned your narrative of the single hospital where your wife works yet you have determined that the single hospital with which you have familiarity reflects every hospital in this countryThat's right. Any personal stories that confirm the narrative are to be taken as 100% true.
Any stories that contradict, well they're false and should be ignored.
No, there are some hospitals that are seeing larger than normal. But people just don't remember last year apparently.Nobody questioned your narrative of the single hospital where your wife works yet you have determined that the single hospital with which you have familiarity reflects every hospital in this country

I agree with you about last year. They were preparing for the worst, nobody knew how bad it would be. I had surgery last year at the end of April at Tampa General. The floor I was supposed to be on was turned into a special Covid floor. My surgeon told me that it wasn’t being utilized but they wanted to be prepared. This year is different in my opinion. Now they are adding units and make shift areas for Covid as needed. No, there are some hospitals that are seeing larger than normal. But people just don't remember last year apparently.
Waiting on the USNS Comfort to sail into Miami any day now...
We'll see. Hope not. But if the delta follows what it did in the UK, that won't be needed either.I agree with you about last year. They were preparing for the worst, nobody knew how bad it would be. I'm glad your dad is okay!
I'm saying that the headlines about hospitals filling up are not true, just like they weren't true last year when we sent the ship and the tents and they sat vacant. My wife is a nurse, and during the covid peak last year, they were sending her home because there was nothing to do. As the data that I sent around here a couple of times already shows, while people are going to hospitals, they're being released much sooner, very few are in there for more than a couple of days before being sent home.
As we learned last year, hospitals run at near full capacity all the time. I wish I could help people stop being so afraid.
You must be mistaken as Bass’s wife’s hospital has empty beds therefore every hospital in this country has the same. Anything said contrary to this is simply fear porn broadcast to promote an agenda.I’ll counter your anecdote with my own.
My wife has worked in the COVID units. She watched last year as they kept adding more and more beds to extend the units for increased capacity. This wasn’t precautionary, they kept filling up. Now it’s happening again. The hospital is already above the peak of last year and they expect it to almost double by Sept.
Last year when electives were canceled early there was a staffing glut. That changed as the summer went on and our region really got hit.
Right now I have a family member in central FL on the vent. The first two times they called EMS they wouldn’t bring him to the hospital because the census was already high and he didn’t seem bad enough yet.
Why would I stay in my basement as I was vaxxed in April. I will admit this whole pandemic thing has changed some of our habits as we rarely dine out anymore. Not because of fear of infection but because the pause from it helped us realize it was more pleasant to dine at home whether we prepare ourselves or buy to go.Now you're catching on.
Hope you're safe in your basement.
No, I just don't read headlines that are propaganda, don't pay attention to liar Fauci, I remember what we learned last year that many seemingly forgot, and I pay attention to data that I've posted in here several times already. My wife's experience at a hospital backs up what I'm seeing elsewhere. Why would I stay in my basement as I was vaxxed in April. You however still continue to attempt to discredit news reports and personal stories from others based on your own local experience being different.
Live your life however you choose. Your obsession with trying to discredit professionals in the medical field and random posters who share their personal experiences remains bizarre since you aren’t afraidNo, I just don't read headlines that are propaganda, don't pay attention to liar Fauci, I remember what we learned last year that many seemingly forgot, and I pay attention to data that I've posted in here several times already. My life hasn't changed one bit during any of this outside of the first 6 weeks. I've been living as completely normal for well over a year now. I had the virus and had a mild chest cold for 2 days. Now I have the great God-given natural immunity that no one in media or government will talk about. So why would I live my life in fear?
I haven't discredited anyone's personal experience. I've countered headlines with actual professionals and actual data published in studies and medical journals from Harvard, Stanford, Emory and others. But sure, I'm trying to discredit professionals. I've also posted the data numerous times, that in spite of cases rising, deaths are remaining low. I've posted the data from the UK who was ahead of us with the delta that showed the spike, and then the decline. This is actual data. But sure, let's believe random tik Tok videos from people crying in a camera over actual data and science.Live your life however you choose.
