Laugh if you want.... I really do not care. His stats do not lie. He had opportunities at Michigan, he was the starter probably based off the same sentiments everyone is spewing... Look at the thread comparing him to Tebow... lol. You must be one of those.
So some rando playful compares him to Tebow and you take it as gospel😅🤣😂

I compare you to simple Jack...or will me making a thread give it more validation

I haven't been this excited for the Football season to start in a really long time. Coach is going to roll with who he trusts the most and gives us the best opportunity to win Games. I don't have a "PERSONAL FAVORITE" to win the job. Some of you guys are Blindly pulling for this guy or that guy...I don't get it. Trust Coach and whoever wins the job, so be it. GBO!!! GET SOME!!!

All of that happened after Pruitt was outed. If those things don't happen and we get a couple more wins then he's still here along with Fulmer too....that's all I was trying to say.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's gone and I'll ride with the program no matter what is coming our way from the NCAA.

If you believe that his performance was the real reason for the investigation, it wouldn't have been much more expensive just to fire Pruitt outright without cause and not risked the NCAA being involved. They saved on not paying Pruitt his $12.6 million, only to pay Fulmer, UCF, Steele, White (paid $800k/year more than Fulmer) and the Bond, Schoeneck & King just over $5.5 million, and counting as long as the investigation is going on.

You really think $5-6 million in savings really was worth it to the administration to go through a year+ long investigation and risk the program getting hit with NCAA sanctions?

Even if we assume that Plowman just wanted to fire Pruitt for poor performance, I still don't think they involve the NCAA with the kind of risk it brings if there was a way to sweep the allegations of Niedermeyer's and Felton's actions under the rug and just fire Pruitt and his staff without cause.

I get that, I understand but what makes you feel that way given this kids stats are not all that good. Physical make up ? Strong arm ? He does not run that effectively either. Mind you these stats are from the Big Ten
Physical makeup is a big part of it. 6'5" and 245 pounds is a big dude. Plus, his arm strength is also a factor I also feel he was not a very good fit for Michigan's pro style offense and is a better fit for Heupel's offense that likes to stretch the field and take shots downfield. I also think having a QB that can run is better. I do feel that Bailey can hit the deep ball better than Hooker but Hooker's ability to run is better. So, again 1a, 1b, 1c. For Maurer, again I like the guy but personally feel he won't see the field with these other guys in front of him.

Sigh. 2021 practice thread and let's discuss JG and Pruitt. I thought they looked like..... GONE..... in these videos.

Can someone here pipe a 4yo singing "Let it go" to these whiners?

As for practice, I liked seeing agility and blocking drills and wish we'd (me included) focus a little less on the QB and a little more on the other 10. There's a lot to a football team that isn't the QB1. And that's as much toward me as anyone here.

My opinion on Maurer is, and this is opinion. No facts behind it. He has the arm and athletic ability to be SEC caliber but just look at his body. He hasnt added muscle or improved anything about his body makeup in 3 years of being in a top notch program. He looks skinny fat. That makes me think he doesn't put in the extra work required and is relying on his natural ability like he did in high school. He makes me think of the back up QB from the Blue Mountain State TV Series

I see your point and it’s a valid one. I’m going to sit back and trust Heupel to make this decision, I trust him on this position group more than any coach we’ve had in a long while

I agree in parts, I thibk Bailey has a better future ahead but feel that Hooker may be more complete right now. I think he starts game 1 but we may see all 3

I really don't care what you do personally. Your prerogative, to add to that opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one. I prefer to look at what information is available. The info says thus far Milton has not been very good. Maybe that changes, maybe it doesn't.

I really don’t care who the QB is as long as they help us win games or give us the best chance to win. If HB needs to sit another year fine. If he transfers oh well , we have another talented passer coming in next year . I just want to see smart football decisions and dedication to win from my Volunteers. Win or lose you give me that I’ll be happy with the strong effort.

Milton may be the guy in the end. However, good practice didn’t prove as successful on the field before. We’ll see.

Keep in mind everyone got a fresh start. Doesn’t matter about stats from Michigan, Virginia Tech or UT.
Coach will pick whomever gives us the best shot to win, unfortunately the other three will have to put their big bot britches on and continue to compete and push or over take the starter.

Always hyped to see the pads on again!

My eyeballs and my gut feeling is that we may have a decent staff and not even an egomaniac at the helm (rare in college football these days).

While I can't wait to rip Bowling Green, the noon game the following week against Pittsburgh will be the one that tells us a lot about where this is all headed. If we can get up for that game, play hard from the whistle, and deliver, that will give me a little hope.

I don't know if I've seen what I think is the best pro comp for Milton which is Daunte Culpepper. Almost a clone, skill and size-wise.

"seven players catching kickoffs from Paxton Brooks and a Jugs machine: Wide receivers Velus Jones Jr., Jimmy Calloway and Jalin Hyatt, running backs Tiyon Evans and Jabari Small and defensive backs Trevon Flowers and Theo Jackson."
Surprised Rucker isn't getting a look

EH??? Well, never let it be said I don't try to please. Though truth be told, I have an insane knack for going a bit off the railroad tracks. I try to tell myself trains aren't meant to roll on asphalt roads. But I dagnabit, never listen to me.

Late Kick Cut: Josh Pate talks Tennessee's QB competition
Josh Pate had a very good take on our QB competition yesterday. He's usually spot on with his takes. It's a good read/listen. He's still got his money on Bailey FWIW and had a lot to say about tempering expectations for Milton based on the snippets we've seen so far from camp. Said Michigan fans and media got sucked in just like we are and were calling him the next Cam Newton based on practice videos. Of course, we all know how that played out on the field.

We already had this conversation, Big AL.

You can't just post stats in a vacuum and say "see he's not that good".

The dude had probably the worst skill group in th big 10. They were almost always playing from behind with no run game to balance it out. And of course the thumb injury was definitely an issue.

I told people 2 weeks ago Milton was by far the most polished QB on the roster. He's just getting better and better each practice.
