Coronavirus (No politics)

They're trying to do that at the hospital my wife works at. So a petition was started yesterday, as of right now they have over 500 signatures. Good luck firing 500 people. Goodbye hospital.
Doubt this will play out, but I’ve seen this type of “protest” with the unionized labor at the company I once worked for. It’s amazing how many talk a big game until they realize the paycheck is about to stop coming in then 90%+ roll back in after a week or so.

I’m sure some will cave, but many will not. My wife will be coming home

Some of those 500 people may be vaccinated people who think it should be left up to choice. Over 100 were fired or forced to resign at a Texas hospital for not getting vaccinated. So these moves will happen. Your wife can find another job where it won't be required and the hospital can find another nurse. We all have a choice.

Good luck finding more nurses. Around 45% of the staff at my wife's hospital are unvaccinated. They've struggled to hire nurses for a while now, hence why my wife has been working tons of overtime and call lately.

She also recently had her review where she received a perfect score. So this hospital is going to fire my wife, one of the better nurses they have, because she won't get a vaccine that isn't approved, that she doesn't need, for a virus for which she already has antibodies in her system, and you people are celebrating it.

I'm fine with it also. My wife will be home with the children, that hospital will struggle and lose lots of money in the short term. And the quality of nurse in the hospital will go down. They'll lose a lot of good nurses over this. Hopefully states pass mandates going forward keeping this kind of stuff from happening.

Wonder what happens if one of these employees has an adverse reaction or dies from the vaccine.

How about prior infection card. Oops sorry, I forgot nobody wants to talk about this

Agree but how do you verify? Everyone will say they’ve had it and just didn’t go see a doctor because their symptoms weren’t severe. Vax card is only way to verify and if everyone would get vaxxed we would have a lot fewer headaches than we have currently

they can still get COVID. Vaccinated people are getting COVID and some even go into the hospital Players get COVID, shot or not shot, they won't play ball

Over 90% of the people requiring hospitalization are Unvaccinated. Anecdotally, 100% of the people I have admitted to the hospital in the past 3 weeks were unvaccinated. Yes, the vaccinated can still get Covid but the chances of getting very sick are greatly reduced.

Correct. If you feel safer in a crowd of 100k than getting a vaccine with minimal side effects, then I’m not sure what to say.

My daughter got the shot, on the advice of 2 of her doctors, and it almost killed her. She has MS. They learned better and told her not to get the second shot. She was in ER twice and continued to have symptoms for several months. Just the last few weeks she has gotten better.

Now, she will not go out into crowds. She won't even come around family outings with people who are vaccinated. Her husband and son are vaccinated but are exposed daily to people (school and work) so she has the risk of them bringing COVID in to her.

There are millions of people like her that have conditions that prevent them from taking the shot or take shot and run risk of having a very bad reaction possible death. Ticks me off when people accuse people who want the shot but can't take it for health reasons.

And those of us who already had COVID and see no point in taking an experimental non-FDA approved vaccine that has been shown to not prevent infection or spreading of the virus?

My wife and I both tested positive in early November. We both had the usual symptoms and the worst part was chronic fatigue for a few weeks afterward. Lost smell & taste and was slightly out of breath for a week. However, I had strep throat a month before and was bed-ridden for 3 days. Had the flu the year prior and it was way worse than COVID, too. My wife tested positive again in March, so we quarantined a second time, but had absolutely zero symptoms.

If being vaccinated doesn’t stop infections or becoming contagious, then why should they be mandatory? And especially for those who already possess natural immunity?

The policy you are pushing merely says “submit, and don’t ask questions.”

I have been directly exposed to COVID, plus I have had auto immune issues in the past. Not a good idea for me to take the shot. Guess under your wishes I wouldn't be allowed to go to games.

If you have "immune issues" that make you feel you shouldn't have the shot then you damn sure should not want to be a game full of unvaccinated people.
