Agree. I'm a big fan of Hyundai products.

I have become a Subaru fan. Love their car and they really hold their value. Where Ford, GMC, and some others are having to be pricey to cover pensions and when you drive a Ford off the lot you lost 5,000 and that was a few years ago. I sold cars at one time.

I'd add that Kia/Hyundai are also worth looking at. They are in the old school GMC realm where they are simple to work on, plenty of parts that are used among many models and also priced extremely competitively.

Nissan has fallen imo with their transmissions being so bad the last decade or so.
The word easy has never been used when dealing with a Kia Hyundai or any Korean vehicle.

Had a mechanic explain it to me. Had a long response typed out...its just engineering...mechanic also added its steep they use in Japan vs Korea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Again, im no expert. I just know our Hyundai Tuscon was an immortal PIA, and was always having issues. Theyre expensive to work on and at 100K theyre ready to trade.

Never worked with Taylor or McDonald's, but I can say a lot of the stuff in that article is pretty par for the course. This one cracked me up.

That the food-equipment giant Taylor sells the McFlurry-squirting devices to McDonald’s restaurant owners for about $18,000 each, and yet it keeps the machines’ inner workings secret from them.

I've never worked with an OEM in the country that just gives away their entire source code, or doesn't lock their debugging menus. I know if we did that, the customers would have destroyed the machine the first time it went down and they tried to fix it themselves. This is like saying "I bought a Tesla, it better come with all the self-driving software on a flash drive." I love open source... But most companies do not operate like that lol.

Dave Ramsey calls a lease a "fleece."
Dave Ramsey's eighteen year-old daughter also drove a brand new Audi SUV our freshman year at UT. It's easy to preach financial responsibility from an ivory tower where you've already got money. I'm sure he paid cash for her car, but he was able to...because he's rich.

Nissan has updated their CVT to be much more durable...although I'm still not a fan of CVTs in general. Whoever took over Nissan after Carlos Ghosn has got the ship heading back in the right direction. The recent updates to the Titan and the new Pathfinder, Rogue, and Frontier are massive improvements. The 9 speed transmission that's in the Titan, Pathfinder, and new Frontier is looking pretty good.

To be clear, I've been a Nissan guy since I started driving and my grandfather was one of the construction managers during the building of the Smyrna plant. That being said, I definitely strayed away from Nissan for the 2012-2018 timeframe and recently picked up a 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4x. I absolutely love the truck. As for bignewt's comment on the interiors...I would agree except for the new models coming out. The interior on my Titan is very nice...certainly much nicer than the Tundra and Silverado interiors I have been in and more comfortable than a loaded F-150 (Ram is hard to beat for interiors). My loaded Titan also cost less than the competitors. My wife recently switched from a 2017 Lexus RX that was fully loaded out to a 2022 Pathfinder Platinum and we both feel like the interior on the new Pathfinder Platinum beats the Lexus. I think Nissan is well on their way to repairing their reputation.

No offense, when I think of Nissan. I think of a step above Kia.

Going off topic here, but I’m kinda new to this country…

Lease or purchase a used car 5-7 years old?
purchase. if you're gonna lease, get a brand new one. the big benefit to buying used is that you don't have to deal with the depreciation that first year or two. leasing a used car...can't make that work in my head, unless you just need something really really cheap and you only need for a very short period of time... just make sure you do the research...car fax etc...most reputable dealerships will do some sort of certification deal on their used inventory which means they've at least verified or fixed any of the issues that could cause problems early on after the purchase. if not buying from one of those, id definitely due your due diligence. and sign up for the warranty, those things can be negotiated b/c they are nothing but 100% profit for the dealership, so don't be afraid to either ask for more time on the warranty, or lower up front costs...

good luck.

I'm guessing butchna or some other person that doesn't like me did that lmao
Yeah… not really happy about it. I’ve got too much going on in my life too be taken advantage of when I’m offering to help, but I guess that’s life. So happy to take time away from my family, three jobs, and ministry to unsubscribe from these

Agreed on Kia. If this was even 5 years ago I’m not sure I’d agree, but they have done a great job with revamping their vehicles. The Telluride is a great SUV, absolutely loved it when I test drove it, but I just couldn’t swing the price at that time. I opted for a 2021 Kia Sorento and have been very happy with it.

My boss raves about Telluride. He subscribes to Consumer Review journals
