I say give him time. Even if it’s 4-8 this year, give him time. It’s going to be a slog. We have to show we’re ready to invest in a coach. DW picked Heupel and we’ve got to roll with that.

I’ll revisit this in year 3 when I’m demanding a FAHRIN’
Agreed...your other post earlier about the expectations for the season are exactly how I feel also..it could go a lot of ways but 5-7 or 6-6 is where I am at because of the inevitable scheme transition problems, depth problems and injuries that WILL happen during the season.

I also think that if literally everything, or at least a majority of things go right..8-9 is a good possibility(we ain't winning 10..c'mon)...but like you I have to ask myself, when is the last time much of anything went right more than wrong for us?

We have to give this guy a real chance, and burdening him with unwarranted expectations is just going to cause issues.

As for me..what I don't want is Heup having a confirmation bias problem, and f'ing over Bailey in the process. I have no problem with Milton getting the job as long as he is the clear cut winner.
I do t think Heup will but do feel he would prefer Milton bc he has physical skills that Bailey doesn’t have….. From what I’ve heard….. Milton looks like the obvious choice but that could definitely change when he starts having to read the defense.

We’ve done that…..

Allow me to introduce you to him:

Ah, that’s right. I’ve thrown the 2017 season out of my mind entirely.

If Butch weren’t such a head case, his resume would have warranted another season even considering how bad 2017 was. I guess that’s what I’m saying for Heupel - he’s got to find a way to keep everything kosher behind the scenes even if the results aren’t stellar.

We'd all be saying Brady who?
Maybe, maybe not. Marvin Harrison was no slouch himself. The biggest detriment to Peyton's career, IMO, was the Colts never fielding a really good defense to go with Peyton's offense. Brady always had a good defense opposite his offense in New England.

Anyone know if Dee Beckwith will be an RB solely? Seems like with injuries and his size and speed he would be a great as a hybrid WR/TE in this offense. Especially with us losing Pope. If RB is his best position and he’s a beast there by all means I’m not going to complain. Kinda feels like between Small, Evans, Wright, Hodge we will be ok there though play Beckwith could always get run at RB too.
