16 team conference would be odd. Would also have to move Auburn and another west team to East IF it does happen. Doubt it. A weird time for this report, and don’t worry the SEC will make sure we play bama no matter what lol.

Also, doesn't Texas have the 'Longhorn Network' deal with ESPN/ABC - sure they would lose money if they walked out of that early.

But let's say for G&G this is true and it happens.

If not, does Texas go to the West and OK go to the East?
Seems pretty far to travel for USCe to go to play OK every other year...
If so, do we keep the traditional E/W rivalries like TSIO?

This has legs because it’s clear the SEC could get 3-4 playoff teams a year under the new format and they are 4 years away from the Big XII tv contract being done for good

I predicted 10 years ago, we were headed to 4 super conferences of 20 teams each. would allow for more "playoff" teams..

Each conference would have 4 divisions of 5 teams each.

Each division winner would be in playoff to determine the 4 conference champions which would make up the final 4 playoff for the over all Champion.

Of course the same format would work with 4 conferences of 16 teams each.

With playoff expansion to 12 teams, it makes sense. A 3 loss SEC team could still get in. I'm sure TV revenue will go through the roof with these 2 additions.

Probably move Bama and Barn to East, UT, OU, and Mizzou to West. 9 game conference schedule.

That would make sense if the SEC were to stick with divisions, but I think if they do go to 16 teams, they would most likely move to a pod system.

It's not allegedly. Lawyers have been in talks with agents and "guess who" conference commish's. It happened. What is more important here is Texas took a DIRECT swipe at "The Real UT." Texas made it clear they want UT butt.
