From the High School Governing Body

While it is not our position to debate the merits of current college athletes earning money from their NIL, it should be understood that these changes do not affect current high school student-athletes. Current high school student-athletes CANNOT earn money as a result of their connection to their high school team.
Already, in less than a week, we have seen articles suggesting that high school athletes should likewise be able earn money from their NIL. Our member state associations have rules in place that prohibit student-athletes from receiving money in any form that is connected to wearing their school uniform.

Not arguing with this point, however your assertion was that violation of the high school rule would somehow carry over to college, which isn't the case.

Rumors he will commit next month and it won’t be to us, but if he ends up at Powell like is rumored, it could give us more opportunities to change his mind

By what measure? Trey Smith was #1 overall on ESPN I think
Currently Bryce Brown is the highest rated recruit UT has ever had with a score of 0.9992.

Eric Berry is #2 with a score of 0.9986

By contrast, Trey was our 12th highest rated player at 0.9920.

Bryce was #1 rated at his position and #2 overall in the nation. Berry was # at his position, but #3 nationally.

Nolen is #1 at his position and #3 nationally with a score of 0.9992 tying him in 1st on UT's highest rated recruits.

A 1.0000 is a perfect/ highest rating and currently only 5 players have achieved that rating.
Jadeveon Clowney
Robert Nkemdiche
Rashan Gary
Vince Young
Ernie Sims

Followed by Ronald Powell and Trevor Lawrence with a 0.9999

they're good talkers. AP has relationships. Brent is all Vol Network

It’s hypocrisy though. They have been bashed on here for not knowing much. Oh 9.99 blah, blah, blah. But it seems like when they say it’s not likely we get someone, BGS loves to quote them as if their opinions are valid then. It’s ridiculous to say we aren’t getting someone in July when NSD or the season hasn’t happened yet.

So AP is now credible? He and Hubbs have been lambasted on here for years as not knowing much. But since it’s negative news, they know what they are talking about. Makes perfect sense.

AP is about as credible as it gets when it comes to recruiting. Has been for quite a while now. He's not perfect, but he's dang good

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out we're most likely not gonna get this kid. We're facing unknown sanctions and have an entirely new staff, and this kid has options. COULD he pick us? Of course, but if you're playing the odds, it's not happening. And that's what AP is doing. Odds are not in our favor, tho I want this kid desperately(no pedo).

It seems like @drvenner 's nuts were not an enticing enough offer.

I'm sure he hears that from the ladies a lot.
