My commiserations to any on here affected by the recent job cuts in the area. Know some people who got their marching orders from Alcoa the other day. Sea Ray and some others are dropping like flies too.

Anyway lets hope things get better!

My job cut 10 jobs out of 75 a few months back. I'm glad I made it.

keep your fingers crossed! My line of work is safe but not untouched by the economy. Things are bad in Europe too, it really is a global economy.

That's good to hear. Yes, as a matter fact. I would like fries and a hot apple pie with that.

Have a masters in business thank you, maybe you should take your nose out of Savage's stinkhole and be your own man. Also try travelling outside of the US and educate yourself! BAAAAA!!

i've travelled outside the US and have travelled to more places in a year than you will during your whole lifetime.

it doesn't matter if you have a masters degree. hussein obama is going to hire 2million gov jobs to fix roads. he's not going to give tax breaks to private companies so they can't hire you. face it, you'll be wearing a hard hat and bright orange vest. just make sure you keep your pants up while holding that slow sign. maybe you can put some obama stickers on the back of it.

Hasn't Obama proposed spending somewhat on par with Bush?

Seriously it isn't republicans you should fear with the economy. Bush acted against the principles of conservative republicans. Bush in a lot ways acted as democrats do, fiscally speaking anyway.

What about those who cannot afford to travel overseas? As I'm sure your aware there are many republicans who are not wealthy, just as there are many democrats who are not poor.

he and congress spent like democrats. that's why they lost congress and the senate. before the housing market collapsed we had 6+ years and growth and job creation. inflation was also held in check.

No. It's not even close. He's using this economy to advance his spend agenda. He's now saying that trillion dollar deficits will last for years. Amazing how different that sounds from the blatant campaign lies and spending cuts.

Those who did not sip the Kool Aid knew this was coming. There is no way he could deliver on what he promised, I just hope all those that thought otherwise will now admit what pragmatists were telling them all along.

The blame Bush game for the continued and increased deficit over the next three years will replace the hope and change mantra.

it's strange out here in cali it doesn't seem too bad. i don't know a single person who has been laid off. i imagine that will change soon. my business has slowed down considerably.

i find it funny that hussein O, said that his stimulis package will not reduce the fed deficit. isn't that the whole point of a stimulis? to help the economy grow, which will give more jobs and money to Americans, which in turn will provide more tax receipts to the treasury.

Umm aren't you using job losses as "cannon fodder" to bash Republicans?

Is it only wrong when one side does it?

ummm really high?

i was wondering what percentage you pay in taxes. with all the wellfare and state programs cali has, you guys have to be taxed to death. well actually your consumers are being taxed to death. i'm sure you pass the taxes on to the consumer.

I know the government froze the contract I was hired for the day before I was hired and didn't contact the contractor until a week after they froze it.

Luckily, I work for a good company.

You might want to actually read the plan instead of spewing your uninformed rhetoric

You would have probably said the same thing about FDR in the Great Depression.

Bush doubled the national debt in his 8 years in office where was your outrage then? Oh that's right, he's a Republican so that's different.

I know for a fact that his spending policy was criticized by BPV and nearly every other conservative on this board. We have stated many times that this is the reason he lost the support of his base.
