He also told us not to judge others. He is the judge.
That is actually not true either. Matthew 7:1 is often plucked out and used alone, but you need to read the following four verses to see what Jesus said about judging. We are to judge based on how we want to be judged. What He is getting at is judgment comes from His words in the Bible. You are judging based on the words of the Bible, then it is a fair judgment, because that is exactly how everyone will be judged in the end. Jesus says to take the log out of your own eye first, so that you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. There’s nothing in that that says do not judge at all. Yes, God is the great and ultimate final judge and is the only one that really matters.

I know what Matthew 7 means because I can do simple hermeneutics. If Jesus were saying that we could not acknowledge sin, the whole Bible is destroyed. How did Peter preach “repent” in Acts 2, Steven the same in Acts 7, Paul in Acts 17? How does Church discipline happen in Matthew 18? How does Paul command the Corinthian church remove the man from the congregation because he is in adultery in 1st Corinthians 6? How could Paul say that those who practice certain sins will not inherit the kingdom in 1st Cor. 6:9-11? The answer is that Jesus does not mean in Matthew 7 that we are not to acknowledge sin in others.
Well said, Bass. Where do you worship around ATL?

Bass, I'm never a fan when someone thinks they have the will of God figured out. None of us do, none of us ever will. But why do you think Jesus told the crowd, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"?
2 Peter 1:3…God has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through his true knowledge. That means He provides us with everything we need to know and it is His words breathed out by Him as we read in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Based on this, we are able to know His will and what he expects and wants from us. I fully acknowledge Isaiah 55:8 that His thoughts and ways are above mine, but that doesn’t mean we can’t understand what His will is for us.

I'll be perfectly honest here. As a Christian I have felt judged as a weak minded, sheltered, uneducated idiot that would give up my beliefs if only I were exposed to more places, cultures, and beliefs. Even told that on here. Now I am judged as full of hate because I don't believe a man can become a woman or vice versa because of an operation or drugs. Sure some things change but not the biology. That doesn't mean I hate them or do not empathize with their feelings. But I sure am thankful I am not having to teach the class of 8th grade girls 2 miles down the road that are insisting on being called "they" just because they are on a power trip.
Beautifully said.

I was wondering how long this would take. It’s a fair cop.

Anyway, I’ll just leave this (almost entirely secular) synopsis of a new book arguing against the current gender self-identification movement, because it’s about so much more than “people who just want to be left alone.”

all i know is, for my lot... rubber hoses exist. of course i'm kidding... maybe.

And don't accuse someone of "twisting scripture" simply because they see things differently than you. Many people pick and choose what they want from the Bible while ignoring other passages. You do not know God's intentions anymore than I do and to pretend you do is arrogance.

Go do real study back to original Greek and it’s talking about judging to death that is wrong not judging sin but to death for sin. Only God can do that. Word is Krinos

Also, I am unfamiliar with Sab. Is that someone you are fixated on?

At no point did I attempt to discuss the rights and wrongs of any athletes participating in whatever. I just think it’s a real s&$& heel move to be an ass to someone just because they’re different than you.
At no point have you ever argued in good faith, so I doubt you have either the desire or the capacity. Continue to feel outraged at whatever your overlords are pointing you at this week.

I have no desire to be mean and hurtful to anyone. They have a right to do whatever they choose with their bodies. What I have a problem with is when someone else is being harmed by someone’s selfishness. Is it not selfish for a man to compete against women? That same man has a right to choose his sexual preference and how he wants to dress or act, but it isn’t fair to the other women that don’t have the same muscular capacity as the man dressed and taking hormones to fulfill his sexual desires or whatever makes the person want to be something else. I’m not perfect I am a sinner and have done things I am ashamed of. I have no place to judge anyone. I just think athletic competition should be fair to everyone. Maybe that means a new bracket for people on hormone therapies to “change” their genders should be considered.

Boom! Say it like it is, SaS!

Not sure I fully grasp what you're saying.

Feeling judged, is on you. In how you feel SaS. Not condescending, I feel like you're right on in many ways. And have clarevoyance enough so I dont need to expound on that being as you already know.

Truly, if others ARE in fact judging that shows a complete and total disregard of respect for themselves. All we can control is how we present ourselves individually, either by example or by spoken word.

If people want to call themselves turkey leg, cumquat, or dip ****...does it really impact us? Is the inevitable degredation, fall into the abyss of society going to cease by us sweating what others think? They have a choice. I think it starts and stops here in our own homes....in how we teach our own children. All I can do is protect them for a shoet time.

Sooner or later, they're going to learn what they learn. I just pray that their incumbent world view, of which they will compare and contrast to make decisions is such that they will choose right over wrong...

Like what you said about empathizing with others, makes sense.

So basically if a person has an opinion on a certain matter they should just keep it to themself is what I’m getting. These days if a person has a differing opinion it can come with being called a bigot, racist,or maybe being accused of hate speech just because it doesn’t fall in line with the mainstream.

I think bigotry and racism are pretty clear & that's been quite mainstream since 1800's, sadly in this Country...

And Sam, i'm not getting political here. I think good old fashioned common sense can delineate what and where those lines are.

But it’s not as easy as that nowadays.Look I’m not trying to be a jerk and can’t say what I want to say without getting somewhat political but things aren’t easy.If I was to say things aren’t————and ————(fill in the blanks with two colors)some people would call me racist. It’s ridiculous.
