I don’t think we’re going to be good for at least 5 years. I’m 35 and the thought that I could live to 90 without ever seeing us win an SEC title again has crossed my mind.

Roy Kramer's tenure as SEC Commissioner: 1990 - 2002

Notice anything? Kramer initiated the SECCG and was a key cog in starting the BCS. Some may not realize he is from Maryville. We will deemphasize his Candy ties. lol. But he and Dickey were great friends and worked together on a lot of issues.

We no longer have that access.

Dickey acted and behaved like an alpha….. I don’t think he would have had had an issue standing up to anyone no matter the relationship.

The portal will be as important if not more for several years until Heupel is able stabilize the roster and get his players in the right spots. He inherited a decent roster this year but it will be a mess after the 21 season.

Yeah next year is more of a challenge but no reason worrying about next year until we see what the roster looks like next….. plenty of room to fill holes with transfers and maybe some juco ready players.

Whats worse is with baseball and basketball aving the success it has,that will put even more pressure on Heupel.Its not gonna be an easy road no matter what happens.Win a few games,snag a couple decent recruits and u never know.I just know its gonna take patience,and well u know how we do with that.
