Culinary, Arts, Thread.

I'd sincerely ask him why, and try to not make a big deal out of it in front of him. I'd definitely ask my daughter why also, because I just don't understand that look🤣.
My brother has a 9 year girl, only child. Sent it to him and he responded " with a shotgun". I told him what you said about the magnet and he said "that's a great answer, but I'm a shotgun dad".

I left it at that, because I know him. I'd like to know how he would honestly handle that situation, unfortunately I believe that's how he would. I love him more than probably anyone, but he's someone I just won't discuss certain things with, like politics or Covid. I'd hate him in the PF here.

Anyway, I'm fascinated by that scenario because there are father's that have to deal with that. I honestly don't know how I would. All that kind of stuff is becoming more and more common and acceptable, but that doesn't mean I have to or should accept it.

Guess I should just be greatful I'll never have to deal with it.

No surprise the Transgender flag burning thread is fascinating. I'm impressed by all the experts we have on VN on the subject.

I agree 100% with most of your post in there @Orangeslice13 ... and that doesn't mean I disagree with some of it.

People really need to stop worrying about issues that don’t effect them. Kinda goes with messiah saying don’t worry about the spec in your neighbors eye when you have a splinter in your own.

Got up at 5AM to check on the brisket... it was 165 degrees, so I wrapped it in butcher paper and put back in smoker... it is now 183 degrees internal. When it hits 190, I will move it to a cooler, wrapped in a towel. This will finish off the cook... about 2 hours in the warm cooler. I will post photos, good or bad... but its gonna be awesome.

Agree, but there's a fine line in worrying and being concerned, in my opinion anyway, plus it would be terribly boring without it.

You couldn't have been more correct on "acting on it" being a choice.

The conversation brought up another thought I had that I would be curious as to what you thought, just not sure how to present it and not be misunderstood. And not sure I want to have the conversation anyway lulz. I'll think about it though.

Would love to hear it.

All of it!
Funny, I thought you and I were pretty much on the same page. I don't think you're a weak minded sheep because you got the vaccine. Why did you get the vaccine if you think Covid is a hoax? He thinks you got the vaccine and using your health issues is just an excuse.

I genuinely believe he'd break out a shotgun if that kid showed up at his door. I obviously don't know you as well as I thought I did if you would.

Errbody else...FYI.....It's Religious talk that you're welcome to read, I'm just putting the spoiler tag on so you don't have to see if you don't want. It's intended for @Orangeslice13

It's not earth shattering or anything, maybe you've thought about it too. I think on the subject daily, but just thought about it this way today after reading a post in that thread. This is the post. I bolded the part I'm interested in the most.

"Funny to me that being gay or transgender is a mental disease but thinking you have a "personal relationship" with an invisible deity you've never actually conversed with or even have any real proof exists is 100% normal."

I've had conversations with him deleted on the subject. He's a piece of work....to be kind.

I believe I could help in proving to him and others like him that God does exist. Only one problem. He'd have to be willing to genuinely want and try to believe in him. He'd have to dig down to the depths of his soul and want to.

So without that there's no hope... obviously unless God intervenes, but that's a different conversation.

Do you basically agree with that? Just making sure I'm laying this out correctly before I go further.

See this @Souce ? It wont do you any good.

It seems like experts are constantly cautioning the public not to follow Shailene Woodley’s health and beauty advice. In 2014, the actor told Shape that she gets extra energy by exposing her vagina to the sun. Gynecologists all over the world objected, saying that there is no evidence that sunning the va-jay has any health benefit at all.

that guy was raised by a religiously abusive parent. To reach him he’s going to have to get beyond that. I’ve asked him if he really wanted to know things before. Most of the time he said no but twice he said yes. Both times he said he had not considered what I was saying and bowed out. The point is he’s reachable but I let Hashem do that work. I just throw seeds at him when he’s willing to hear it.

Okay as long as I'm explaining it well enough. It's really not just about him but those like him.

I had to do a paper a long time ago for a class I didn't finish, and wished I had, on Blaise Pascal. I know your familiar with Pascal's Wager.

Long story short, the wager was part of his whole unfinished work called Pensees. In the wager he explained that some were unable to believe and to be able to they should speak to others that could not and did, and do as they did to at least learn thier ability and "endeavour" to convince themselves".

So, my thought/question is, if someone like VSF could genuinely try to convince himself that God did exist, Even if God didn't exist, he would live a happier and more fulfilled life just from the mere idea that God did exist?

Not sure about her different routines, but I’ve never cried more or harder over a movie than I do every time I watch “Fault in Our Stars”. Book was even tougher to read. F cancer
Yeah, it caught me off guard.

The Divergent series was one of those movie trilogies that wasn't all that great, but I loved them. Several times.

I just like to have conversations with people that don’t see things exactly like I do. About the vaccine I sort of did consider my health issues and oncologists advice as one of the reasons I got the vaccine. I probably would’ve waited longer to see what kind of adverse effects others are experiencing such as myocarditis in young people after getting vaccinated. As far as the disease being a hoax it’s interesting to me how hundreds of thousands of people died of the flu every year until the Covid came around and now the flu death rate isn’t ever mentioned and apparently has gone away and hasn’t killed anybody anymore. However there obviously are a whole lot of people that got sick and a lot died from Covid. And I don’t think I would need a shotgun to get rid of metal face.
