In last year's (or the year before's) budget our city council drastically cut policing budgets. Queue huge increases in violent crime all over the city, business leaving, multiple shootings in the "nice" downtown, and on and on. Multiple officers have quit and the police force is an absolute fraction of what it was. Now queue up the council giving a HUGE budget increase to police in the FY22 budget.
