Vitello Will Not Leave Tennessee. . .

Once the emotions of a great season have passed, and saying LSU was going to make him an offer. His decision would be between making a lot of money doing what he loves to do at a place where he can build a program from scratch VERSUS making huge money at an established program, getting the best of the best recruits, great facility to work and play, in a pressure situation to win, and win big every year.
I don't know if it will be offered but if he is offered he must consider it. A man in his line of work gets an offer to the top program in his field once in his life.

A few reasons to help y'all stop freaking out:

1. Danny White.
We need national attention and successful athletic programs for him to be successful as well. He has the free range to spend like he wants to make that happen, that's most of the reason he came here anyway. Not many places have the funding to be successful and the desire as well.

2. Vitello.
He is actually a loyal man and he knows what he's doing. He's invested in these guys and they're invested in him. He's building a national power here. He doesn't need to ride someone else's coattails.

3. Knoxville.
Have any of y'all been to these different campuses and cities? Knoxville and the surrounding area is far, and I mean way farther better bestest, than the other places. Where else can you have a town and people like Knoxville, then drive to a rainforest on your days off to relax?

4. He's already said so.
He won't leave if things are done how they should be, and they will be, see #1.

5. Check
my
Damn
stats
if you don't believe me.

I wouldn’t be betting the farm on it.

The pledge I didn’t say I had already written the check. If we don’t keep CTV that pledge goes away. So, it is 100% designated.

I don’t think many folks are thinking about this and other aspects like the draft and the portal, I ain’t gonna go on because it depresses the hell out of me.

GBO!!!

1. He cant repair 20 years of neglecting baseball in 6 months. LSU is ready made for success.

2. Money and facilities talk. If he was so loyal he wouldn't have left TCU for a lateral job at Arkansas.

3. Knoxville is a better town than Baton Rouge.. But our baseball complex isn't

4. again, money talks.

1. LSU’s ready made for success hasn’t won a CWS since 2009. It’s not the program it once was. Kids aren’t dying to play at LSU either over other top programs and I’m now including UT as a top program too
2. Arkansas was (is) a much better job than TCU and it’s in the premier conference in college baseball. The move was a no brainer for CTV
3. CTV has a vision for the stadium and it’s his vision. LSU’s stadium without the fans is crap, I’ve been there and wasn’t impressed like I thought I would be…..and Baton Rouge isn’t a great town
4. Money does talk however It’s not like UT can’t get close, when you make a lot of money, a $100,000 here or there doesn’t make a huge difference.

You make some good points however he’s not leaving for LSU……OT

Vandy's whole area there is a like the Triforce of Crap with the Football, Basketball, and Baseball stadiums/gym all back to back to back like that. And for baseball I mean crap because they're Vandy, not because the program is crap; unlike the other 2.
LOL ! Working a legend of Zelda reference into describing VU’s facilitates is both accurate and admirable !

Louisiana also has a 6% tax rate so if he made 2 million there...120k could be lost in taxes This is the Year to Fix Louisiana's Tax Structure - Council for A Better Louisiana

I’m glad we agree on #1. I was getting a little fired up arguing that point earlier in another thread. Sorry to those that witnessed my tantrum.

TCU was not lateral to Arkansas at the time he left. TCU had not made their CWS runs yet and DVH had been 4-5x as a HC already at two separate schools. TV was there as recruiting coordinator for 2 years; the year after he left started their run of 4 straight CWS appearances. Those JR, SO and likely the FR classes of that 2014 team were his and the foundation to that run. Is it a coincidence that after his last recruiting class graduated, TCU missed the tournament the next year and only made it to the regionals as a 34-28 team the 2nd year, post TV’s class?

As an assistant one of the best ways to get your name out there and hone your philosophy, I’d have to believe, is to work for different HC’s, different schools, conferences etc. That’s exactly what he did.

Yea .. he would be crazy not to take a job where he will get alot of money .. first rate facilities ... our facility is nowhere near as nice as most in SEC .. we need to do some major renovations

He will get almost as much, if not the same, amount of money here as he would at LSU. We're also going to dump big funding into renovations of LNS, so this narrative needs to die. It won't happen overnight, but change is coming this off-season.

Granted I graduated Gatlinburg-Pittman a little over 20 years ago and moved to Orlando after UTK so I may be out of the loop.........but for them to put in an actual rainforest to attract tourists just boggles my mind...........that must have cost a pretty penny. I hope they didnt effect the National Park in any way.

You STILL don’t consider that we’re so far behind that the 35 million well put into facilities still wouldn’t be close to sniffing what LSU already has lol

Did you completely miss the part of my sentence that said "it won't happen overnight"? I know you selectively edit what you read to fit your doom and gloom narrative. The renovations will bring us close to the middle-of-the-pack in the SEC which is nothing to bat an eye at and if he continues to have success he'll get even more funding. It's really that simple.

Right. We’ll see if he’d rather have all of that and 50x more immediately or wait a decade for his “vision”

I don’t see LSU hiring a coach without a championship on his resume. Also, unless I’m mistaken, LSU is retaining at least one of their assistant coaches.
