I was chuckling at the gym yesterday when I took in the area where I was working during a pause between sets and realized that I was the only person not staring at a smart phone screen. It's pretty much irrefutable that smart phone use triggers dopamine release. The physical side effects may not be as bad as a narcotic, but those people who cannot be idle for more than a few seconds without reaching for their phones are in fact junkies in the truest sense. Most people are in denial about their phone addictions, just as with all other addictions.
