It did. It was the right call. Baseball isn’t a go out and swing for the fences every pitch.

Petey hasn’t laid down an effective bunt all year and looks completely uncomfortable doing it. He’s been swinging the bat too well the last 3 weeks to waste it there. It was absolutely a terrible call and that’s not hindsight talking. He’s not the one you do that with. Every scenario is not the same. Max or Liam batting, absolutely, Derkay; no.

Derkay is slow; any ground ball is a DP. Any batter 1-7, and they would have hit away.

I disagree. Max probably would have bunted in that situation, and he is quite good at it. Do not ask someone to bunt who is not comfortable doing so.
