Mexico's López Obrador says he called Harris 'president' after meetings on migration

Harris declared her visit to Mexico a success earlier this week

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said this week that in-person meetings on the migration crisis with Vice President Kamala Harris went so well that he called her "president."

"It's a completely new phase," López Obrador said during a news conference about the meetings on Wednesday, according to Reuters. "It was such a good meeting that I called her 'president.’"

President Joe Biden and Jill Biden joined The Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family for a posh party Friday night for the leaders of the G7.

The first couple arrived arm-in-arm; the president in a dark suit and stripped tie with the first lady wearing a trench coat over a dark dress.

The Bidens spoke to The Queen in a reception line. The gathering looked jovial with both members of the first couple and the monarch smiling broadly at one another.

Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge joined the G7 leaders at the reception where Charles offered remarks at the event.

The leaders also joined The Queen for a family photo. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson escorted The Queen to the photo op with French President Emmanuel Macron at their side. Biden walked in with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The menu for the event has been created by chef Emily Scott of the Watergate Bay Hotel in Newquay and will include Cornish turbot and new potatoes for the main course, and local cheeses.

Biden administration replaces Trump-era VOICE office created to report Crimes committed by immigrants and replaces it with service to help migrants in detention centers

The Biden administration said Friday it has dismantled a Trump-era government office to help victims of crimes committed by immigrants, a move that symbolizes President Joe Biden's rejection of former President Donald Trump's repeated efforts to link immigrants to crime.

Trump created the Victim Of Immigration Crime Engagement Office, known by its acronym VOICE, by executive order during his first week in office in January 2017.

VOICE will be replaced by The Victims Engagement and Services Line, which will combine longstanding existing services, such as methods for people to report abuse and mistreatment in immigration detention centers and a notification system for lawyers and others with a vested interest in immigration cases.

Neal Boortz once told a great story about how he had friends he had met in Russia that came to visit him in Atlanta. The shortened version is that he lost the wife in Harry's (I think) while she was looking around. Finally found her a little while later and she was standing in one of the aisles with tears streaming down her cheeks. He asked her what was the matter and she said that it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. She couldn't believe her eyes that a grocery store could have so many things available.

I miss Neal. He was always great to listen to. And what a great idea the fair tax is. That is why it will never happen.
