The media severely damaged their credibility over the last four years. There’s not a better example than the Wuhan lab story and the miraculous flip in attitudes and reporting.

The more interesting question to me is who is going to be self aware enough to admit their attitudes and opinions were shaped by misinformation and outright lies from entities that failed to do their primary job of reporting facts and evidence?

And this Russia story makes for a good test case. The same standard that was applied to Trump and about a dozen others (including Tulsi) is now being ignored for Biden. Who is self aware enough to call Biden out? Or at least admit they were misled and influenced by emotional narratives.

the small # of journalists who've recognized the problems have been forced out of their journalistic homes and have had to start their own outlets or go through Substack.

It's a mix of money (get loyal viewers/readers by representing an agenda) and advocacy vs reporting that have accelerated the slide
