Lol at the people who said we are in a rebuilding phase…. Huepel and staff are literally trying to win and win now. They have picked up some really really good talent out of the transfer portal.

This staff impresses me.
Actually, it’s biblically so. “Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me”.

I ain't mad at all at our portal efforts. We taking players from places like Auburn and Michigan and Texas. Take a few more quality players for all I care. Let's win this year.
Feeling better and better about it. Patchwork defense may be able to hold their own and let the offense do their work

It doesn't matter if you are a fan of it or not, it is still a fundamental truth..none of these transfers are going to make us three games better. I do believe they make a disastrous season much less likely.
if those three games are Bama UGA and FL I agree, but I think looking at the transfer by a black and white metric is the wrong POV. Do these transfers give us a better opportunity vs Pitt, MIZ, SC, OM, and KY? Absolutely. Like your last point - these transfers don’t guarantee 3 extra wins on the schedule, but they do increase the odds of say 7 or 8 rather than 5 or 6. I don’t get looking at it from some “fundamental truth” perspective.

We are going to be much better on offense since it what appears JH try's to match the talent with the system he runs and not trying to do things your talent is not suited to do. If the D can just be Average and not great we will surprise a lot of people. Dept will be an issue so I would not be surprised to see several 60 or 80 point total games. To be honest I don't care if every opponent scores 50 points as long as we score 51.

If our defense is statistically average, then our players and staff will have done something very special imo. We were 69/127 teams last year in scoring defense. To hold steady would be absolutely fantastic after losing our 3 (4?) best defensive players.

Something I have noticed about the kids they are recruiting on both OL and DL. All are tall and on the videos they have they appear fast and most of all quick. I know I say it all the time but these guys seem to know what they want and they also seem to be wanting to build the type of players that the Pro's are going after now, long, strong, fast and quick. The days of the the big guys that fill up space is basically gone and being upgraded to guys that are strong and can move. Look at any pro roster now and you can see a real trend over the last 10 years.

Where our program is right now, I’ll take non disastrous.

Yep. Before spring, I was thinking 6-6 with downside risk.

I feel good now that we reach 6, and 7 is possible.

New staff; new systems on both sides of the ball; lots of key transfers out; lots of new players; and lack of depth at key positions still holds me back; and the first year experiences of Kiffin/Dooley/Butch/Pruitt keep me from expecting more than 7.

I know football is king, and we need to get it right. But, our athletic department is actually very successful right now.

I would like to know if any school is better if you look at men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, golf, and tennis. I believe track and field is also ranked. No wonder Danny White wanted to come here.
Does Fulmer deserve any credit for the success of the other programs?
