I can respect LeBron's game, but that whining crap he pulled laying on the floor for the whole review and then pointing at his eye after he hit the shot. That's what I can't stand about LeBron, he even brought it up in the press conference, unsolicited, just to make him look better
Yep and his ankle injury...... setting up an excuse or a hero story.

Author/Researcher Brenee Brown had a difficult shift in thinking to make when she came to the conclusion that “generally speaking, everyone is doing their best” in life

I used to be a big believer in the meritocracy and was sure that anyone could be as successful as I am if they just worked harder, until I read an article by some pinko commie liberal lefty claiming the contrary. After I calmed down long enough to actually think about what was said, I adjusted my view to be that the meritocracy is a micro effect that allows us to be the best version of ourselves, but genetics/birth/race is the macro effect that defines the field we play on. It isn't a popular view by either side of the political spectrum, but the reason some people groups succeed and others do not has more to do with things set at birth than merit or laziness or racism or privilege or any other thing we like to blame. All of those things play a micro role, but the macro causes are genetic. A hard working dumb guy isn't likely to cure cancer or be a CEO no matter how hard he tries, while a lazy or arrogant genius is prone to be successful without really trying. It isn't fair, but that's the reality.

So whether we are talking about economic success or health and well-being success or success in avoiding addiction, the best starting point is recognizing that you had less to do with who you are than you'd like to think, and knowing the same is true of others, be quick to extend to them the grace to be who they are.
